Emergency Procedure

If you need to report an emergency to us such as injured or escaped livestock or damaged infrastructure please follow this procedure:

  1. Call the office on 01256 381190.
  2. If no one answers, wait for the answering message which will detail the name and mobile number of the member of staff who is currently on call.
  3. Phone the on-call member of staff who will then respond accordingly.

NOTES:

  • Please do not phone a member of staff directly unless you know they are on-call.

  • If you are unsure if a particular situation qualifies as an emergency then please phone the on-call member of staff anyway so that they can make the decision on how to proceed.

  • Most importantly of all – please do not report injuries or sick animals via the blog alone – always call the emergency on-call contact.

    Friday 31st December - All 11 seen

    All eleven youngsters were enjoying the sunshine in the area around ///tinned.storms.clashing at 14:00 this afternoon.  They were all grazing or chewing their cud.  They were all happy and healthy.  

    Cow 241's head was looking really good today - she came over and said hello.   There were no visible signs of the injury from earlier this week.

    Thursday 30th December - All 11 seen

    All eleven cattle were seen in the area around ///tortoises.composers.revision at 14:30 this afternoon.  They were all busy grazing.  Cow 241's head was looking ok.  All the cows were good.




    December 29th December

    All found just off the central track. Led them with some nuts to keep their training up and rewarded them with a lick. I couldn’t see an issue with 241’s head so must have healed well without intervention. Staff will keep an eye on it though to be sure.

    Wednesday 29th December - All 11 seen

    All eleven youngsters were seen in the area around ///sprains.nudge.surgical at 14:15 this afternoon.  They all came onto the path to say hello and then went back to grazing in the gorse bushes.  They were all good.

    Cow 241's head injury was looking better today - certainly not as red and the traces of blood on her coat had washed away (photos below).

    Tuesday 28th December - All 11 seen - 241 has hurt her head

    Youngsters 237, 238, 239, 241, 254, and 256 were all grazing or stood chewing their cud in the area around ///paraded.essay.shady at 14:25.  Cows 244 and 247 were in the nearby trees eating gorse.

    Just as I was leaving at 15:00, I found the other three emerging from bushes onto the path at ///pancakes.ripe.unicorns.

    Cow 241 has hurt the left side of her head (see photos below).  It looks as though it has been bleeding.  However, it does not appear to be bothering her, she was grazing quite happily and came over and said hello.

    Eleven very wet youngsters were seen in the area around ///eventful.delays.defectors at 14:30 this afternoon.  They were all busily munching on gorse bushes.   They were all fine.

    Cows 239 and 256 were busy munching on grass in the area around ///harshest.tried.cobras at 13:55 this afternoon.  The others were in the gorse bushes close by, but all came over to say hello and then went back to grazing.  They were all good.

    All eleven cattle were seen in the area around ///viewer.sparks.amount at 13:30 this afternoon.   They were all happily munching on grass and gorse.  They were all well.

    All eleven cattle were seen in the area around ///gifted.renew.snippets at 15:00 today.  They were busy munching on the bushes either side of the path.  They were all happy and healthy.

    Wednesday 22nd December - All 11 seen

    Cows 252 and 255 were seen grazing in the area around ///collides.care.vineyard at 13:40 this afternoon.  They were both good.  At some point in the past, cow 255 has torn the tag from her left ear.  Her ear appears to have healed ok though.  I mentioned it to Ciara yesterday.

    The other nine (237, 238, 239, 241, 244, 245, 247, 254, and 256) were all grazing deep in the gorse in the area around ///outright.refilled.deprive at 14:20.   They all poked their heads out and came over to say hello.   They were all fine too.
