    29th December - All seen

A group of the ponies were not far from the gate in B6 at 1045 this morning browsing on the gorse.  The two collared ponies were together, deeper among the bushes.  All appear well.  The cows must have round behind Brock's Hill but seemed to guess something was going on as they appeared around the bend at a trot while I was examining the ponies.  The cows also appeared well, including 215 who was leading the trot.

    Wednesday 28th December - All 11 seen

The eight ponies were all found grazing on the far side of the site in the area around ///planting.rail.dorms at 14:45 this afternoon.   They were fairly widely spread out on some very waterlogged ground.  Despite being rather wet, it wasn't dampening their appetite for the gorse they were all munching.

I was just about to give up on finding the cows when they emerged from the thicket and wandered along the path to meet me at ///acclaim.unusually.parsnips at 15:40.  They said hello and had a drink of water before they went off grazing.  While cow 215 wasn't seen chewing her cud today, she seemed well.

The cows and the ponies were all good today.

    8 (7 x brown and 1 x white) pony

8 ponies spotted in the recently cleared area to the right of the main path between Brocks and the gate to TT area.  All appeared well.

    Monday, 26 December 2022

    Monday 26th December - All 11 seen

All eight ponies were grazing just down from the entrance to the site around ///holds.novelists.rhino at 10:25 this morning.  After a while, they stopped and stood on both sides of the footpath, relaxing in the sunshine.

The cows were mainly munching on gorse and heather in the area around ///move.tweed.driven a short while later.

There were no issues with the fences today.  And there was plenty of drinking water available.

As I was leaving, cow 215 was standing on the footpath that takes you up to Brocks Hill, chewing her cud.  She was drooling more than usual when doing so.  Need to keep an eye on her.

The cows and the ponies were all good today.

Pipeline fence check today - all fine

I checked the fence line running parallel to the pipeline works this pm, and I'm pleased to say all was fine.

There was no sign of the pipeline contractors: no workers, or machinery or a chap on the entrance gate, so I hope that means they have finished for Xmas. When I spoke with one of their managers they said they would finish tomorrow, Thu 22nd anyway.

I was losing the light to check the stock properly but did see 3 of the ponies, who looked well and saw the 3 British White from a distance with bins!

Thanks all and have a relaxing Christmas...

    Thunder of hooves

The grey mare was visible on the track to the west of Brock's Hill as I arrived on site.
As I walked toward her she came to meet me (I told her she shouldn't!).  Another pony was up on the NW shoulder of the hill and just beyond the three cows were grazing in the sunshine.  While I was examining the cows I heard a thunder of hooves as the other six ponies came galloping around the track.  They were joined by the first two ponies and the cows decided they would run off further up the hill.  All seemed well and happy to be in the sun.

    Sunday 18th December - All 11 seen

The eight ponies were all grazing together in the area around ///signified.them.widget at 13:05 this afternoon.  They weren't being put off by the heavy wintery rain, despite all being rather wet.

Eventually found the three cows deep in the bushes around ///should.rationing.garage an hour later.  They, too, were all rather wet.  They were munching on gorse.

There were no issues with any of the fences.  And there was no shortage of water throughout the site.

The cows and the ponies were all good today.

5 ponies yesterday and 8 today. All appeared well.

Monday 12th December - All Cows & Ponies found

    Hi All,

We found our three cows on the main hill, they happily walked us over to show us the spring is still flowing into the reserve. ///storeroom.cowboys.hypnotist

Saw all ponies as well, everyone is doing good. Plenty of pools still available on site unfrozen and cracked (thanks for doing this)

Thank you for going out and checking them in this cold but very beautiful weather!

    Sunday 11th December - All 11 seen

The cows were busy grazing on gorse and heather around ///frown.passes.january at 12:30 this afternoon.  They weren't being put off by the thick frost covering the site..

The eight ponies were all found in the area around ///swordfish.slab.audibly a short while later.  They were all happily munching on the gorse bushes.

I broke the ice on the same large frozen puddles as Friday, beside where the ponies were grazing to give them some drinking water.

    The fences were fine.

All the cows and the ponies were good this afternoon.

    Saturday, 10 December 2022

    Saturday

All found at 10 am cows and ponies together near the corral all looking fine.

    Friday, 9 December 2022

    Friday 9th December - All 11 seen

The ponies were all together in the area around ///complies.carrots.range at 14:15 this afternoon.   Met the two newbies who were looking happy and settled in their new home.  Seven were up and about grazing.  The original with the headband was lying down initially, but soon got up and started grazing with the others.

The three cows were found grazing in gorse bushes around ///modules.narrates.crisp about 20 minutes later.  They seemed happy to have a visitor, but soon got back to munching.

There was plenty of drinking water in the woods near Aldershot Road.  There were some large frozen puddles near where the ponies were grazing, which I broke up.  A couple of the ponies were interested in what I was doing and came over and immediately took a drink.   There were no issues with the fences.

The cows and the ponies were all good today.

Checked pipeline fence today - all fine

I walked the fence parallel with the pipeline today to be on the safe side and I'm pleased to say all's well.

I have contacted Fisher German to report the fence damage from last week and they assure me they should now be working only within the blue roped strip, so not too near our grazing fence. I have also spoken to some of the guys on site.

Saw the 3 cows and 5 ponies but it was getting too dark to check them properly!

All 11 in the far SW corner

We were saved a hunt today by hearing a bellow from the far SW corner of the site as we crossed the grid next to the corral at 1100 today.  One of the cows was calling the other two who, it turned out, were only a short distance away behind some gorse. Nearby were the ponies, all eight of them in the trees close to the racetrack.  Cows and ponies all look well.  We checked the fence all the way up beside the pipeline works and it remains intact.  The mud is drying up (saving a paddle at the kissing gate) but there is plenty of water in the ponds.

Final 2 extra NF ponies added today: final total 8 NF ponies & 3 cows

The NF grazier drove up today and delivered the final 2 NF ponies, so we now have 8 ponies in total and 3 British White cattle on site.  I saw all of them today and all are looking well.

Thanks very much indeed for reporting the damage to the fence and it was great that Harry & Alex were able to get there so quickly and repair it. Thanks All!! I will be following up with the contractors tomorrow about this damage to try to ensure that it doesn't happen again.

I will check the fence parallel to the Esso fuel pipe regularly while the Esso contractors are working there and if anyone else has time to check as well, that would be very much appreciated.

    Thanks again

    Thursday 1st December - All 9 seen

Shortly after arriving at site today, I noticed damage to three sections of fence in the far southwest corner at ///double.workers.glassware.  I reported it to Harry, who promptly arrived with his colleague to carry out the necessary repairs.  Thank you!

The six ponies were all busy grazing in the thicket around ///differ.admit.underway at 14:55.  Met the two newbies, who were looking really well and seemed to be enjoying their new home.

The cows got a double treat of cattle nuts today.  Firstly, to entice them out of hiding.  Despite a full search of the site, I didn't spot them, which I'm putting down to the thick fog!   And then, secondly, when Grace and Lottie sprayed them for flies and mites.

The cows and the ponies were all good today.

Mon 30 June, none seen and too hot to go exploring too far
