All nine ponies were grazing in the thicket around ///trick.downs.stickler at 17:45 this evening. They were enjoying the long grass growing amongst the trees. A few took a break from munching and came over to say hello. The ponies were all happy, relaxed and looking really well.

The ponies were all good this evening.

    Monday 25th September - All 9 seen

All nine ponies were together in the area around ///mend.mint.faces at 17:25 this afternoon.  Five were standing, relaxing in the late afternoon sunshine.  They were all very chilled out, with a couple resting their eyes.  The other four were all happily grazing amongst the long grass and heather.  They, too, were calm and relaxed.

After a while, all nine wandered in a south-westerly direction, grazing as they went, to the trees around ///trip.station.riverboat where they all munched on some leaves.  They moved through the trees, over the small path, and into the thicket on the far side, where they all continued to graze until I left them at 18:00.

It was wonderful to see them calm, relaxed and all together today.  They seemed to have resolved their differences and were enjoying grazing together.  The ponies were all good.

    Sunday 24th September - All 9 seen

Six ponies were found in the area around ///large.tenure.cope at 12.35 this afternoon.  One of the newbies was happily munching on grass at the side of the path.  The other five were on the opposite side of the path, huddled together.  I quickly spotted a pony I hadn't seen before (and who appeared to have a different brand to that of the others) and that the other four were unsettled.  I then looked back and saw the tan pony wandering down the path, confirming something wasn't right.  The ponies really weren't happy and proceeded to chase the newbie away.  They progressively chased her all the way into the thicket around ///lake.float.ruling.

I was in the process of making Lottie at HIWWT aware, when a second new pony appeared.  This one looked similar in appearance to the tan pony, which made me think perhaps some extras had been put on site.  Lottie kindly contacted the owner, who confirmed that she had put three new ponies on site this morning.

The ponies continued to graze but remained unsettled.  They were being very vocal, with lots of loud neighs, and continued to chase the newbies away, particularly the one I found first.  Over the next hour, they all settled down, with the two newbies remaining on guard, grazing on the periphery of the group.   As the ponies calmed down, several came over and said hello.  This included the newbie who resembles the tan pony, who was super friendly considering the circumstances.

The eight ponies had made it to the area around ///fish.wobbling.fond by 13:35.  I wandered off to search for the ninth pony, who I found in the south-west corner, near the corral, ten minutes later.   She was happily munching away on grass in the sunshine.  She was very relaxed and was taking the time to get settled into her new home before meeting the others.

I returned to the group of eight who were continuing to graze together.  Just before leaving at 14:00, the tan pony decided to chase away the first newbie again.  Hopefully they'll all quickly settle down and become friends, just like Monday's newbies did.

    Friday 22nd September - All 6 seen

The ponies were all happily grazing in the area around ///holly.monopoly.cabs at 18:00 this evening.  They were all rather wet, but were taking the opportunity to top up on some dinner in between the heavy rain showers.  They were all enjoying the long grass in amongst the thicket.

It was lovely to meet the three new ponies, who all appeared to have settled into their new home just fine.  They were all looking really well.  One was super friendly and wandered right up to me to say hello.

The ponies were all good this evening.

3 more New Forest ponies added this pm - total now 6

We have added 3 more NF ponies to Long Valley Brocks Hill this afternoon. They're names are Phillipa, Victoria and Beechleaf Baby. The other 3 are looking well.

Good to see the water level in the pond is holding up and the Gelvert stream is running so they are fine for water.

Many thanks for your continuing welfare checks.

    Sunday 17th September - All 3 seen

The ponies were grazing in the area around ///forgiving.minus.price at 12:05 this afternoon.  They were all happy and very relaxed and enjoying a mix of fresh grass and gorse.  They were their usual friendly selves and came over and said hello.

There had been a few rumbles of thunder in the distance before leaving them at just after 12:30.  And as I was driving home, the heavens opened.  Hopefully the ponies found somewhere to go and keep dry.

The ponies were all good today.

Two ponies grazing to the left of the path between Brocks Hill and the gate to TT.

    Friday, 15 September 2023

    Friday 15th September - All 3 seen

The ponies were all happily grazing in the early morning sunshine at 08:20 today.  Two ponies were munching on the fresh grass on the patch of grass in front of the path up to Brock's Hill.  The third was a bit further round the corner, grazing on the grass at the side of the path, parallel with the racecourse.

The ponies were all happy and very relaxed.   There was barely a fly to be seen today.

The ponies were all good this morning.

    Thursday, 14 September 2023

    Thursday 14th

All 3 ponies eventually found near the base of brock Hill, on the track to race track.

All 3 looked fine, grazing the edge of the track.

Tuesday 12th Sept - all 3 ponies seen

Sorry for the late post. All three ponies were waiting just inside the gate at the SW corner of the site when we visited at about quarter to four on Tuesday. All appeared well but were stamping their feet and trembling their skin to shake off the insects that were troubling them. They were small flies, more like mosquitoes and not the ones that were troubling them in the heat.

    Sunday, 10 September 2023

    Sunday 10th September - All 3 seen

The ponies were initially found together in the area around ///refills.ankle.risky at 11.00 this morning.  They were munching on grass at the side of the path.  The brown pony quickly wandered over and said hello and stood under the trees while enjoying an ear rub.  She was happy and relaxed.  Soon after, the tan pony did the same.

By 11:30, the ponies had wandered up to the area around ///hello.gravy.storeroom where they continued to graze.  They were happily nibbling at the fresh grass while occasionally having a munch on some gorse.   They were all looking well.

The ponies were all good today.

    Friday 8th September - All 3 seen

After a very long search of the site, I eventually found the ponies pretty much back where I started at 18.50 this evening.   I was just returning from a search of the northeast part of the site, when the collared pony wandered through the thicket and came and said hello to me around ///gems.charities.wiring.   She's normally the shyest of the three, so I was a bit surprised she just came straight over.

The other two ponies were initially grazing in the thicket on the other side of the path, but they soon came out and started munching on the grass alongside the path.  They were both very relaxed and friendly.  They were soon joined by the collared pony, and they continued to graze as they followed the path along the west side of Brock's Hill.

There was plenty of water left in the pond, and there was water pooled at the hydrant sign on the northwest fence line.   The tent on the top of Brock's Hill was also gone.

The ponies were all good this evening.

    Tuesday, 5 September 2023

Tuesday 5th September - All three ponies seen

The ponies were were having a sunset graze on the north side of Brock's Hill when we found them at around seven this evening. They all appeared well.

    Sunday 3rd September - All 3 seen

The ponies were standing under the shade of the trees in the far southwest corner of the site at 12:50 this afternoon. The brown and the collared ponies were standing close to each other and were doing a good job of keeping the flies off of each other's faces by regularly flicking their tails. The tan pony was more than happy to receive her usual ear rub.  All three were looking well and were very relaxed.

After thirty minutes, they decided to leave the trees and go and enjoy some of the glorious afternoon sunshine. They one by one wandered out to the surrounding area and started to munch on the fresh grass.

The ponies were all good today.
