Emergency Procedure

If you need to report an emergency to us such as injured or escaped livestock or damaged infrastructure please follow this procedure:

  1. Call the office on 01256 381190.
  2. If no one answers, wait for the answering message which will detail the name and mobile number of the member of staff who is currently on call.
  3. Phone the on-call member of staff who will then respond accordingly.

NOTES:

  • Please do not phone a member of staff directly unless you know they are on-call.

  • If you are unsure if a particular situation qualifies as an emergency then please phone the on-call member of staff anyway so that they can make the decision on how to proceed.

  • Most importantly of all – please do not report injuries or sick animals via the blog alone – always call the emergency on-call contact.

    Thank you!

    Still asleep

All four were at the gate to the Test Track at 0920 this morning.  #231 was fast asleep when I arrived and appeared to be dreaming.  She didn't wake until I had inspected all the others.  Nothing seemed to be amiss with them.

    Saturday

All found lying in the shade near the gate into the test track section at 10.15. All looking well.

Saw them yesterday. Allo looked fine.

    Sense of Humour

Entered at the gate by the corral at 0930 and quartered the site, starting in the trees in that SW corner, an hour and 5000 steps later I found them back at the corral.  I'm not suggesting they did it deliberately but they seemed to think it was funny.

They were all well, happily tearing up the relatively lush grass and browsing on the small birch.

I met Mike from the Thames Basin Heaths Partnership on Brock's Hill.  We talked about the Silver Studded Blue and his expectation that it will be another week before they are about.  I spotted just two butterflies while walking the site, a Brimstone and this one...

...which I can't tell whether it's a Common Blue or a Silver Studded.
