Emergency Procedure

If you need to report an emergency to us such as injured or escaped livestock or damaged infrastructure please follow this procedure:

  1. Call the office on 01256 381190.
  2. If no one answers, wait for the answering message which will detail the name and mobile number of the member of staff who is currently on call.
  3. Phone the on-call member of staff who will then respond accordingly.

NOTES:

  • Please do not phone a member of staff directly unless you know they are on-call.

  • If you are unsure if a particular situation qualifies as an emergency then please phone the on-call member of staff anyway so that they can make the decision on how to proceed.

  • Most importantly of all – please do not report injuries or sick animals via the blog alone – always call the emergency on-call contact.

    Thank you!

    Sunday 30th April - All 8 seen

Three ponies were grazing in the sunshine in the area around ///series.chimp.twirls at 09:20 this morning. The other five were grazing beyond the bushes on the other side of the path. They slowly wandered over and joined the others, continuing to eat.
I had a nice chat with three ladies from the Thames Basin Heaths team who were going to do a bit of bird spotting on site. They had kindly carried out fence checks during the recent pipeline construction project.
The ponies were all happy and very relaxed today.

    Saturday

All found on Saturday morning looking fine. Apologies for late blog.

    Fence repairs

Hello. Fyi contractors repaired sections of the fence, on the western fence line, nearest the pub yesterday. We replaced around 20 posts and repaired the wobbly kissing gate towards the Aldershot Rd, all supervised by Fisher German as very close to the fuel pipe.

Checked the ponies and all 8 looking good, grazing on the east side of the hill

    Many thanks

    Tues 11th All 8 seen

    Lying in the sun

All 8 ponies could be seen from the top of Brock's Hill at 1000 this morning lying in the sun on the racecourse side of the track (D6).  When they spotted me on the hill they started to get up and wander in my direction; perhaps my green gilet fooled them into thinking I was a ranger. They all appeared very well and content. It may be just an appearance but the collar on one of the two collared ponies looks quite tight (see photo, the one nearest).
