Emergency Procedure

If you need to report an emergency to us such as injured or escaped livestock or damaged infrastructure please follow this procedure:

  1. Call the office on 01256 381190.
  2. If no one answers, wait for the answering message which will detail the name and mobile number of the member of staff who is currently on call.
  3. Phone the on-call member of staff who will then respond accordingly.

NOTES:

  • Please do not phone a member of staff directly unless you know they are on-call.

  • If you are unsure if a particular situation qualifies as an emergency then please phone the on-call member of staff anyway so that they can make the decision on how to proceed.

  • Most importantly of all – please do not report injuries or sick animals via the blog alone – always call the emergency on-call contact.

    Thank you!

    Friday 4th November - All 7 seen

The four ponies were busy grazing in the sunshine in the area around ///blockage.spray.cooks at noon today.  They seemed happy to have a visitor and despite me keeping my distance and not approaching them, they all wandered over to say hello.  They certainly seemed to be enjoying their new home and are a lovely addition to Long Valley.

The cows were found grazing in the area around ///roses.atomic.sunblock about twenty minutes later.  They were busy munching on grass, gorse and leaves from trees.  Cow 215 had a pink patch on the right-hand side of her neck where it looks like she's been bitten by a tick.  It wasn't causing her any issues.

At one point, the ponies wandered by the area the cows were grazing.  Both groups stopped and looked at each other with interest before carrying on.  I gave the ponies another check before leaving site, and they were happily munching on grass and drinking from the large puddles near the footpath around ///resolves.smug.chips.

The ponies and the cows were good today.
