Emergency Procedure

If you need to report an emergency to us such as injured or escaped livestock or damaged infrastructure please follow this procedure:

  1. Call the office on 01256 381190.
  2. If no one answers, wait for the answering message which will detail the name and mobile number of the member of staff who is currently on call.
  3. Phone the on-call member of staff who will then respond accordingly.

NOTES:

  • Please do not phone a member of staff directly unless you know they are on-call.

  • If you are unsure if a particular situation qualifies as an emergency then please phone the on-call member of staff anyway so that they can make the decision on how to proceed.

  • Most importantly of all – please do not report injuries or sick animals via the blog alone – always call the emergency on-call contact.

    Thank you!

Chestnut pony update/ Total of 6 NF ponies now

Nicky checked the pony this morning and she is confident that the problem is a foot abscess. This may be caused by walking on the hard ground of the track. She tells me that there isn't any particular treatment that she or a vet could give and that the fluid should naturally disperse. She moved the pony onto some of the softer, wet ground and there she moved fine, with no issues.

She advises us to keep an eye on her and she is happy to come up again if needed. It's reassuring that it's nothing serious and hopefully should clear up.

Also Nicky has removed some of the ponies to Hawley, now we have MoD consent to graze with ponies there too (which is great news!!) So there's now a total of 6 NF ponies on LV and we have 4 ponies on Hawley.

    Thanks very much indeed.
