Emergency Procedure

If you need to report an emergency to us such as injured or escaped livestock or damaged infrastructure please follow this procedure:

  1. Call the office on 01256 381190.
  2. If no one answers, wait for the answering message which will detail the name and mobile number of the member of staff who is currently on call.
  3. Phone the on-call member of staff who will then respond accordingly.

NOTES:

  • Please do not phone a member of staff directly unless you know they are on-call.

  • If you are unsure if a particular situation qualifies as an emergency then please phone the on-call member of staff anyway so that they can make the decision on how to proceed.

  • Most importantly of all – please do not report injuries or sick animals via the blog alone – always call the emergency on-call contact.

    Thank you!

    Friday 4th April - All 7 seen

Poppy was happily grazing at the top of Brock's Hill at 16:50 this afternoon. She was very friendly, coming straight over to greet me and enjoy some strokes. She thoroughly enjoyed having her back brushed in the sunshine, rewarding me with gentle nuzzles. It was lovely to share some quiet, one-on-one time with her.

The other six ponies were grazing on the slope of the hill, mostly nestled among the gorse bushes to the southeast. One by one, they came over to say hello and enjoy some strokes and rubs. Pandora was especially affectionate, completely melting into a long, relaxing neck rub. Tilly greeted me with the sweetest nuzzles, then rested her head on my shoulder while enjoying a neck and chin rub. She completely relaxed, even closing her eyes.

After a while, the ponies crossed to the pasture on the opposite side of the path and gradually made their way east, stopping at the Gelvert Stream for a refreshing drink. They continued to wander over for more strokes and rubs, clearly enjoying the company.

By 18:30, they had reached the pasture south of the Test Track gate, where they continued to graze contentedly. Pandora came over again and happily settled in for another long neck and ear rub.

I said my goodbyes just after 18:50, leaving them all peacefully grazing, looking gorgeous in the last of the afternoon sun.

The ponies were all good today.
