Emergency Procedure

If you need to report an emergency to us such as injured or escaped livestock or damaged infrastructure please follow this procedure:

  1. Call the office on 01256 381190.
  2. If no one answers, wait for the answering message which will detail the name and mobile number of the member of staff who is currently on call.
  3. Phone the on-call member of staff who will then respond accordingly.

NOTES:

  • Please do not phone a member of staff directly unless you know they are on-call.

  • If you are unsure if a particular situation qualifies as an emergency then please phone the on-call member of staff anyway so that they can make the decision on how to proceed.

  • Most importantly of all – please do not report injuries or sick animals via the blog alone – always call the emergency on-call contact.

    Thank you!

    Sunday 6th April - All 7 seen

Megan and Poppy were happily grazing on top of Brock's Hill at 10:00 this morning. Both were very friendly, coming over to greet me and enjoy plenty of strokes. Poppy especially enjoyed having the sides of her neck stroked, relaxing fully and resting a hind leg. I left them contently nibbling on gorse around 10:25.

The other five ponies were grazing in the pasture to the east near ///cabin.duos.slung, looking beautiful in the sunshine. Pandora greeted me with soft nickers before thoroughly enjoying a long neck rub, rewarding me with the sweetest nuzzles. After a while, the other ponies took it in turns to come over to say hello and enjoy some strokes. They were all affectionate, offering cuddles and nuzzles. Poppy and Megan rejoined the group just before 11:00.

Most of the ponies enjoyed long grooming sessions today, clearly loving having their necks and backs brushed. They're shedding their winter coats in earnest now. Even Megan joined in, thoroughly enjoying having her neck brushed and surprising me with gorgeous nuzzles in return. In the end, the girls were all super relaxed.

The bay pony’s legs continue to heal well—hair is growing back nicely, and she no longer seems bothered by them. The other bay also looked in better condition, with thicker hair along her neck and body. She was happy to enjoy a long neck rub.

The ponies continued to graze, enjoying lots of dry grass and gorse, as they gradually made their way toward the Gelvert Stream. Tilly went for a paddle in the large pool by the stream, munching on the various plants that were floating on the surface. She absolutely loved being in the water and ended up by the path on the far side, where she enjoyed some extra strokes.

I said my goodbyes at 12:15, leaving the ponies peacefully grazing. They looked to be heading toward the northeast part of the site, likely in search of shade.

The ponies were all good today.
