Tuesday 31st October - All 9 found (spooky!)

After a fruitless look from the top of Brock's Hill and a tour of the site I found a couple of ponies on the track between Brock's Hill and the race course (the bit I'd missed by climbing the hill).  They then accompanied me to the rest of the string who were rooting around along the Tweseldown fence line towards the NE corner of the site.  They were very relaxed, enjoying the sun that was dappling through the trees and all appeared well. The beauty in the photo insisted on following me everywhere!

    Sunday 29th October - All 9 seen

All nine ponies were on the move, slowly wandering at the eastern end of the site in the area around ///marine.unfolds.helm at 15:00 this afternoon. They stopped and said hello before queuing up to follow the track through some gorse bushes back to the central path. That part of the site is very swampy with all the recent rain, so they got back to the path a lot quicker than I did. The ponies were grazing on both sides of the path, munching on grass, leaves from the bushes and some gorse. Despite all being rather wet, they were all happy and relaxed. All nine continued to graze, following the path west, before six ponies crossed over the ditch and started to graze in the thicket around ///fools.this.then. The two collared ponies plus the brown pony with the white stripe on her nose continued to graze by the path until I left them shortly before 16:00. The ponies were all good today despite the wet weather.

    Friday, 27 October 2023

    Friday 27th October - All 9 seen

All nine ponies were spread out grazing on the east side of Brock's Hill at 16.40 this afternoon.  Several were initially deep in the gorse bushes, but they soon came out and said hello.  They were all happy and very relaxed.   There was a lot more gorse being eaten today than on previous visits.

I stayed with them until 17:30 when they had all congregated in the area around ///albums.closet.mice. They were all continuing to graze, munching on grass and gorse.  There were plenty of deep puddles in the area, with several ponies taking the opportunity to have a drink.

The ponies were all good today.

    5ish?

Harry, after spotting the one on the path I found 4 or 5 on the left hand side of the path, but very deep into the undergrowth.  Possibly 4 more, but they do blend in and move.  Unfortunately I didnt have the footware to follow trail.

As a late post: yesterday I spotted 6 on the other side of Brocks.  Grazing happily.  All appeared well.

    Tuesday 24th October - Possibly 8 seen

As we arrived on the site at 1645 this afternoon we heard whinnying in the trees in the NW corner of the site, so went in at the kissing gate and wove our way around the trees.  Turned out to be single pony making her way around the tracks presumably calling for her pals.

After making my way to the top of Brock's hill I spotted two more grazing just off the track on the north of the hill.  Meanwhile my wife located more (five we think) on the south of the hill, rooting for acorns along the ditch by the racecourse.  They were well spread out today.

While looking at the whinnying pony a man who runs past the site on his way to work came up and spoke with us saying that he thought the same pony was wandering there and calling at 0730 this morning.

Those that we saw looked well but I notice that the pale pony's hooves are looking a bit tatty (see photo).

Five ponies were found by the path at the south side of Brock's Hill at 13:50 this afternoon.  The tan pony and one of the brown ponies were down in the ditch by the Tweseldown fence line, hunting for acorns.  The other three were foraging under the trees overhanging the path itself.  They were having some success going by the crunching.  They were all very relaxed and came and said hello.

The other four ponies were found together on the north side of Brock's Hill in the area around ///dummy.error.faces twenty minutes later.  They were all happily munching on grass in the warm sunshine.  They were all happy and looking well.

The ponies were all good this afternoon.

    Tuesday 17th October - only 6 seen

After looking round the south of the site I spotted some chestnut shapes on the northern tree line from the top of Brock's Hill in D/E3 at around 1300 today.  When I got down there I found five ponies standing enjoying the sun and a sixth (with a collar) in the trees grazing.  I couldn't locate the other three.  All those I saw looked well.

    Sunday 15th October - All 9 seen

Five ponies were found in the woods in the far north-east corner of the site around ///ever.rooms.mills at 14.50 this afternoon.  They were initially hunting for acorns, but soon stopped and rested.  One by one, they wandered over to say hello, which made it easy to check them.  They were all very relaxed, with three happy to stand and receive a head rub.

The newbie collared pony was grazing in the trees to the south of the first five, just at the forest edge twenty minutes later.  She was very relaxed and was happily munching away on a patch of grass.  The other three ponies were out in the open, munching on long grass in the sunshine.  They were all looking really well.

The ponies that were in the trees came out and joined the other three by 15:20.  They all continued to graze happily in the thicket around ///nicely.valued.parks.

    Monday 9th October - All 9 seen

Four ponies were grazing in the area around ///cosmic.golf.scope just after 14:00 this afternoon.  One pony was initially out in the open, grazing in the warm sunshine, but she soon took shade under the trees beside the others who were munching on long grass amongst the trees.  All four were happy and relaxed.  The tan pony was her usual friendly self and was happy to receive an ear rub.

The pony that resembles the tan pony came out of the trees in the area around ///horns.breaches.aced at about 14:30.  She gave a loud neigh and the tan pony responded.  She slowly made her way over, initially wandering up to me to say hello, before grazing in the sun near the group of four.

The other four ponies were found around ///graph.swan.vanished near the Aldershot Road an hour later.  They had been joined by one of the ponies from the first group.  The ponies were all happily grazing in the thicket before stopping to forage for acorns.  They were being quite successful based on the crunching.

The ponies were all good today.

    Sunday, 8 October 2023

    Sunday 8th October - All 9 seen

Two ponies were happily grazing in the thicket around ///publish.stun.drifter at the north-east corner of site at 15:15 this afternoon.  They were looking great in the warm sunshine.  They appeared to be on their own, though.  The duo continued to graze in a westerly direction before wandering through the central forest of trees and out the other side.  They neighed a few times, as they wandered in the direction of Brock's Hill, trying to locate the others, but there was no reply.  The ponies continued to graze for a while before leaving the thicket and munching on grass at the side of the main path around ///every.masks.lyricist.

A long time later, the other seven ponies were found grazing together in the area around ///joys.late.selling.  They were all spread out and enjoying the long grass in the thicket.  They were all very relaxed, with a few taking a break to come over to say hello.

It was lovely to spend some relaxing time with the ponies this afternoon.  The group of seven were still busy grazing when I left them at 17:30.  Hopefully the other two will join up with them soon.

The ponies were all good today.
