Emergency Procedure

If you need to report an emergency to us such as injured or escaped livestock or damaged infrastructure please follow this procedure:

  1. Call the office on 01256 381190.
  2. If no one answers, wait for the answering message which will detail the name and mobile number of the member of staff who is currently on call.
  3. Phone the on-call member of staff who will then respond accordingly.

NOTES:

  • Please do not phone a member of staff directly unless you know they are on-call.

  • If you are unsure if a particular situation qualifies as an emergency then please phone the on-call member of staff anyway so that they can make the decision on how to proceed.

  • Most importantly of all – please do not report injuries or sick animals via the blog alone – always call the emergency on-call contact.

    Thank you!

    Tuesday 24th October - Possibly 8 seen

As we arrived on the site at 1645 this afternoon we heard whinnying in the trees in the NW corner of the site, so went in at the kissing gate and wove our way around the trees.  Turned out to be single pony making her way around the tracks presumably calling for her pals.

After making my way to the top of Brock's hill I spotted two more grazing just off the track on the north of the hill.  Meanwhile my wife located more (five we think) on the south of the hill, rooting for acorns along the ditch by the racecourse.  They were well spread out today.

While looking at the whinnying pony a man who runs past the site on his way to work came up and spoke with us saying that he thought the same pony was wandering there and calling at 0730 this morning.

Those that we saw looked well but I notice that the pale pony's hooves are looking a bit tatty (see photo).
