Emergency Procedure

If you need to report an emergency to us such as injured or escaped livestock or damaged infrastructure please follow this procedure:

  1. Call the office on 01256 381190.
  2. If no one answers, wait for the answering message which will detail the name and mobile number of the member of staff who is currently on call.
  3. Phone the on-call member of staff who will then respond accordingly.

NOTES:

  • Please do not phone a member of staff directly unless you know they are on-call.

  • If you are unsure if a particular situation qualifies as an emergency then please phone the on-call member of staff anyway so that they can make the decision on how to proceed.

  • Most importantly of all – please do not report injuries or sick animals via the blog alone – always call the emergency on-call contact.

    Thank you!

    Sunday 22nd December - All 6 seen

The ponies were relaxing in the sunshine near ///difficult.swells.throw, in the pasture to the west of Brock's Hill at 12:15 this afternoon. The foal spotted me approaching and trotted over, nickering softly as he drew near. He thoroughly enjoyed his usual neck rub, showering me with affectionate cuddles and nuzzles. Soon after, the other ponies wandered over one by one, eager to say hello and enjoy some strokes. They all seemed happy, relaxed, and in excellent condition.

Nicky stopped by Longvalley to check on the ponies as well and was very pleased with how well they were looking. The foal stayed close by my side, revelling in the attention and soaking up plenty of strokes and rubs. He was especially affectionate, offering endless nuzzles and even giving the occasional lick. After a while, he went for a long roll around in the grass right in front of me, clearly enjoying himself. Once he was done, he came back over for another back rub.

Meanwhile, the other ponies had started grazing in the surrounding area but took frequent breaks to return for more strokes and rubs. Despite the chilly, blustery wind, they all looked gorgeous in the sunshine.

It was a shorter visit than usual, with us saying goodbye to the ponies around 13:10.

The ponies were all good today.
