Emergency Procedure

If you need to report an emergency to us such as injured or escaped livestock or damaged infrastructure please follow this procedure:

  1. Call the office on 01256 381190.
  2. If no one answers, wait for the answering message which will detail the name and mobile number of the member of staff who is currently on call.
  3. Phone the on-call member of staff who will then respond accordingly.

NOTES:

  • Please do not phone a member of staff directly unless you know they are on-call.

  • If you are unsure if a particular situation qualifies as an emergency then please phone the on-call member of staff anyway so that they can make the decision on how to proceed.

  • Most importantly of all – please do not report injuries or sick animals via the blog alone – always call the emergency on-call contact.

    Thank you!

    Water Test Track

Good to see you managed to get onto Test Track Gordon. Apologies that it's not easy.

Just to add that I'd be very grateful if we can all keep an eye on the water levels please. They have 2 sources of water (there's no mains water trough):

the ditch flowing out from the silt reservoir at: graver.clincher.tabs

and (hot off the press!) we fitted 2 pasture pumps in there last week, at:

    barbarian.notice.honest

We will train the cows to use the pasture pumps! if necessary, but they usually pick it up very quickly for themselves.

    Thanks for all your help.

Monday 27th April - Test Track Water - Pasture Pump

I had intended to get in touch today to ask whether the pasture pumps belonged to HIWWT and were for the cattle, so thank you for the update...
