Emergency Procedure

If you need to report an emergency to us such as injured or escaped livestock or damaged infrastructure please follow this procedure:

  1. Call the office on 01256 381190.
  2. If no one answers, wait for the answering message which will detail the name and mobile number of the member of staff who is currently on call.
  3. Phone the on-call member of staff who will then respond accordingly.

NOTES:

  • Please do not phone a member of staff directly unless you know they are on-call.

  • If you are unsure if a particular situation qualifies as an emergency then please phone the on-call member of staff anyway so that they can make the decision on how to proceed.

  • Most importantly of all – please do not report injuries or sick animals via the blog alone – always call the emergency on-call contact.

    Thank you!

    Friday 6th September - All 3 seen

The ponies were grazing in the northeast corner near ///knee.sparkles.assurance at 16:30 this afternoon. They were all very wet from the earlier heavy rain. Pandora was the first to greet me and happily let me stroke the side of her neck. The foal soon emerged from the thicket and came straight over to say hello. He was soaking wet but insisted on giving me lots of head rubs and licks. He enjoyed a long neck rub, one of the few dry spots on him. Megan also came over to say hello before returning to grazing. They all looked well.

The ponies slowly wandered south through the waterlogged ground, enjoying the long grass and heather. The little one stayed close and would take a break from grazing to receive more strokes. He seemed to enjoy having his back ruffled, which helped dry him off a bit, giving himself a good shake once we were done.

By around 17:10, the ponies reached the main path, just along from the Test Track gate, as the heavy rain started. Despite the downpour, they continued grazing on both sides of the path. After about ten minutes, the rain eased, with the ponies still happily eating. The foal came over again for another neck rub after I wiped more water from his back. I said goodbye to them just after 17:40.

The ponies were all good today.
