Emergency Procedure

If you need to report an emergency to us such as injured or escaped livestock or damaged infrastructure please follow this procedure:

  1. Call the office on 01256 381190.
  2. If no one answers, wait for the answering message which will detail the name and mobile number of the member of staff who is currently on call.
  3. Phone the on-call member of staff who will then respond accordingly.

NOTES:

  • Please do not phone a member of staff directly unless you know they are on-call.

  • If you are unsure if a particular situation qualifies as an emergency then please phone the on-call member of staff anyway so that they can make the decision on how to proceed.

  • Most importantly of all – please do not report injuries or sick animals via the blog alone – always call the emergency on-call contact.

    Thank you!

    Sunday 1st June - All 3 seen

At 16:20 this afternoon, steers 75 and 257 were happily grazing in the sunshine near ///mild.others.pursue, enjoying plenty of fresh grass and leaves from the silver birch trees. Nearby, steer 178 was lying down, relaxing and chewing his cud. He was happy to be approached and enjoyed a long neck and shoulder rub. The boys all seemed to be appreciating the cooler weather and looked happy, relaxed, and in good condition.

Just before 16:40, steer 75 went and lay down in the shade, while steer 257 continued grazing. I returned to spend more time with steer 178, who was more than happy to receive another relaxing shoulder rub while he rested.

By 17:05, all three were settled down, peacefully chewing their cud. I said my goodbyes a short time later.

The cows were all good today.
