Emergency Procedure

If you need to report an emergency to us such as injured or escaped livestock or damaged infrastructure please follow this procedure:

  1. Call the office on 01256 381190.
  2. If no one answers, wait for the answering message which will detail the name and mobile number of the member of staff who is currently on call.
  3. Phone the on-call member of staff who will then respond accordingly.

NOTES:

  • Please do not phone a member of staff directly unless you know they are on-call.

  • If you are unsure if a particular situation qualifies as an emergency then please phone the on-call member of staff anyway so that they can make the decision on how to proceed.

  • Most importantly of all – please do not report injuries or sick animals via the blog alone – always call the emergency on-call contact.

    Thank you!

    Thursday 19th June - All 6 seen

At 07:10 this morning, the cattle were resting in the shade beneath the trees in the far northeast corner of the site, near ///oaks.rinse.opened. Steer 178 was lying down, contentedly chewing his cud, but was still happy to have a neck rub. Steers 75 and 257 were both standing when I arrived, but soon settled down as well. They’d picked a cool, sheltered spot and all looked very comfortable. The boys were relaxed, happy, and in good condition.

By 07:40, the ponies were grazing peacefully near the corral — I hadn’t noticed them when I first arrived. They quickly wandered over to say hello and enjoy some strokes. After a while, they returned to grazing but took turns coming back for neck and back rubs, offering affectionate nuzzles and cuddles in return. A little later, they crossed the main path to graze in the pasture to the north. I left them at 08:15, grazing contentedly along the track to the north of Brock’s Hill. The girls were all happy, relaxed, and looking well.

The cows and the ponies were all good today.
