Tuesday 30th January - All 8 seen (eventually)

The ponies were to the NW of Brock's Hill at ~1430 today.  Three were towards the top of the hill with the others scattered amongst the gorse on the flat ground N of the track. It took a long time before we could be sure we had seen all 8 as those in the gorse could only be discovered as you negotiated the 'maze'.  They all appeared well; one of the wide pregnant ponies did stand for some time staring into space and not eating but when I came across her later she was browsing the gorse again.

    Sunday 28th January - All 8 seen

Five ponies were found on the path near the gate to the Test Track section at 13:55 this afternoon.  They were eating grass or picking gorse from the bushes in the warm sunshine.  They were all happy and relaxed.  The other three ponies were in the wooded area to the south, beside the racecourse fence line, where they were all enjoying lots of gorse and holly leaves.

By 14:30, seven of the ponies had come together and were happily grazing near the pond.  The darker pony was still eating gorse down near the gate.  The group of seven had reached the south side of Brock's Hill about fifteen minutes later, when the darker pony decided she should catch up.  All eight ponies had a rest and stood in the sun for a short while.  Tilly was happy to stand and receive an ear rub.  They all then continued to graze along both sides of the path, all the way back to the south-west corner, where they started to eat more gorse.  I said goodbye to them at 15:15.

The ponies were all good today.

All found at 9am all looking fine on the west side of the hill by the path.

    Thursday 25th January - All 8 seen

Not going to be able to do my usual Friday, so paid the ponies a visit this afternoon.

One pony was grazing in the area around ///grandson.beaks.dirt at 13.40. She was by herself but was absolutely fine and was happily eating. She soon came over to say hello.

The other seven ponies were spread out in the waterlogged area to the north-east around ///create.wrong.loafing ten minutes later. They were all happily grazing and were enjoying lots of heather. They weren't being put off by the swampy ground. The ponies were all really friendly today. By 14:15, all eight ponies were back together and grazing in an easterly direction.

The ponies were all good today.

    Thursday 25th

All 8 ponies found grazing happily along the track near the entrance to Test Track. All looked well.

The graze/skin issue looks nice and clean still.

Tuesday 23rd January - All 8 ponies seen

All 8 ponies were to the SE of the site (E6) at 1450 today spread out from the track to the racecourse fence. All appeared well, including Tilly whose bald patch now has completely clear skin.  Unsurprisingly the site is a bit of a quagmire once you leave the tracks.

    Sunday 21st January - All 8 seen

The ponies were all grazing in the south-west corner of the site at 12:10 this afternoon.  Most were enjoying gorse, with a few eating holly leaves among the trees.  The darker of the ponies had her head over the western fence line, munching on gorse.  After a while, the ponies started to come together and rest.  They were their usual friendly selves today and all came over and said hello.

Shortly before 12:45 all eight ponies moved to the far south-west corner of the site.  The wind from Storm Isha had really started to pick up.  Most stood at the edge of the trees and started to relax, while others chose to stand among the trees instead.  There were several glass bottles and other rubbish in that corner, which were picked up and removed from site.

The owner, Nicky, came up today and treated Tilly's face for a fungal infection.  She was absolutely fine while receiving her treatment.

The ponies were all good today.

All found on the east side of the hill at 9.30. All looked fine and the cut appears ok.

    Friday 19th January - All 8 seen

The ponies were all happily grazing in the pasture to the north-east of Brock's Hill at 15:00 this afternoon.  They were enjoying the last of the afternoon sun while eating lots of heather and long grass.  They were all looking splendid.

Several ponies wandered out to the area around ///rips.looms.trail where there were large pools of frozen water.  They started pawing at the ice with their hooves.  I broke the ice at various points so they could have a drink.  I had already broken the ice on the pools of water into the area where they were grazing, just off of the main path when I first arrived.

The ponies slowly made their way back to the gorse bushes at the north-east side of Brock's Hill by 16:15 where they continued to eat.  They were all happy and relaxed, even though it got chilly.  The graze on Tilly's head was looking a lot better today.  Hopefully her hair will grow back soon.  They were still all still grazing when I said goodbye about fifteen minutes later, just as it was beginning to get dark.

The ponies were all good today.

    Friday 19th

All 8 ponies found on the track to the test track entrance. All looked fine. Grazing in the sunshine.

The graze on the head looks OK, just a patch of missing hair now. Definitely worth keeping an eye on though.

    Tuesday 16th January - All 8 seen

The eight were spread out over the open area to the NE of Brock's Hill (D5) at 1400 today enjoying the sunshine.  All appeared well if a little slow from the cold night they were toasting off in the sun.  The graze on Tilly's head looks to have healed up a lot when compared with Gordon's photos.

    Sunday 14th January - All 8 seen

The ponies were all happily grazing in the area around ///mobile.duet.racked at 13:20 this afternoon. They were well spread out eating in the sunshine. They were enjoying lots of long grass and heather. Some of the area is a little swampy, but that wasn't putting them off. They were all super friendly, and would stop eating and wander over to say hello.

When the sun was at its strongest, several ponies stopped grazing and just stood and relaxed, basking in the rare warm sunshine. Tilly, the tan pony, was one of them, and she was happy to stand and enjoy a long head rub as she rested. The graze on her forehead was looking pretty much the same as it was on Friday (photo below). Once the sun went behind the clouds, the ponies started to graze again. They were all still happily grazing when I said goodbye shortly after 14:30.

The ponies were all good today.

Friday 12th January - All 8 seen - tan pony has a graze on her forehead

The ponies were all grazing in the pasture to the north-east of Brock's Hill at 15:10 this afternoon.  I received a very warm welcome, with the ponies all wandering over to meet me.  After saying hello, they got back to grazing.  Most started to eat gorse from the bushes close to the track at the side of the hill.

After a while, the ponies started to spread out, with three ponies wandering south along the track nearly to the main path.  They enjoyed lots of grass and gorse before stopping and having a rest.  The other five ponies continued to eat gorse, with several pausing to take a drink from the puddles in the area.  They were all looking well.

Tilly, the tan pony, had a graze on her forehead today.  It didn't appear to be causing her any issues, and she was still happy to receive an ear rub.  Suggest we keep a careful eye on it.

The ponies were all good today.
