Emergency Procedure

If you need to report an emergency to us such as injured or escaped livestock or damaged infrastructure please follow this procedure:

  1. Call the office on 01256 381190.
  2. If no one answers, wait for the answering message which will detail the name and mobile number of the member of staff who is currently on call.
  3. Phone the on-call member of staff who will then respond accordingly.

NOTES:

  • Please do not phone a member of staff directly unless you know they are on-call.

  • If you are unsure if a particular situation qualifies as an emergency then please phone the on-call member of staff anyway so that they can make the decision on how to proceed.

  • Most importantly of all – please do not report injuries or sick animals via the blog alone – always call the emergency on-call contact.

    Thank you!

Friday 12th January - All 8 seen - tan pony has a graze on her forehead

The ponies were all grazing in the pasture to the north-east of Brock's Hill at 15:10 this afternoon.  I received a very warm welcome, with the ponies all wandering over to meet me.  After saying hello, they got back to grazing.  Most started to eat gorse from the bushes close to the track at the side of the hill.

After a while, the ponies started to spread out, with three ponies wandering south along the track nearly to the main path.  They enjoyed lots of grass and gorse before stopping and having a rest.  The other five ponies continued to eat gorse, with several pausing to take a drink from the puddles in the area.  They were all looking well.

Tilly, the tan pony, had a graze on her forehead today.  It didn't appear to be causing her any issues, and she was still happy to receive an ear rub.  Suggest we keep a careful eye on it.

The ponies were all good today.
