Emergency Procedure

If you need to report an emergency to us such as injured or escaped livestock or damaged infrastructure please follow this procedure:

  1. Call the office on 01256 381190.
  2. If no one answers, wait for the answering message which will detail the name and mobile number of the member of staff who is currently on call.
  3. Phone the on-call member of staff who will then respond accordingly.

NOTES:

  • Please do not phone a member of staff directly unless you know they are on-call.

  • If you are unsure if a particular situation qualifies as an emergency then please phone the on-call member of staff anyway so that they can make the decision on how to proceed.

  • Most importantly of all – please do not report injuries or sick animals via the blog alone – always call the emergency on-call contact.

    Thank you!

    Sunday 7th January - All 9 seen

All nine ponies were happily grazing in the sunshine near the pond at noon today. I had only just started checking them when Nicky turned up to check on Poppy's (the newbie tan pony) eye. The ponies all wandered over to the main path to be checked.

Unfortunately, Poppy's eye was worse today than it had been on Friday, and she's going to need to go back to the farm to get some strong antibiotics to treat the infection (I have photos if anyone needs them). Nicky will be picking her up from site tomorrow.

After Nicky left, the ponies relaxed in the sun for a short while before wandering round to graze on the eastern slope of Brock's Hill. They were all happy and relaxed. A couple of the ponies had started to graze in the pasture to the north-east of the hill when I left them at 13:30.

Hoping that Poppy's eye recovers quickly. The other eight ponies were good today.
