Emergency Procedure

If you need to report an emergency to us such as injured or escaped livestock or damaged infrastructure please follow this procedure:

  1. Call the office on 01256 381190.
  2. If no one answers, wait for the answering message which will detail the name and mobile number of the member of staff who is currently on call.
  3. Phone the on-call member of staff who will then respond accordingly.

NOTES:

  • Please do not phone a member of staff directly unless you know they are on-call.

  • If you are unsure if a particular situation qualifies as an emergency then please phone the on-call member of staff anyway so that they can make the decision on how to proceed.

  • Most importantly of all – please do not report injuries or sick animals via the blog alone – always call the emergency on-call contact.

    Thank you!

    Friday 19th January - All 8 seen

The ponies were all happily grazing in the pasture to the north-east of Brock's Hill at 15:00 this afternoon.  They were enjoying the last of the afternoon sun while eating lots of heather and long grass.  They were all looking splendid.

Several ponies wandered out to the area around ///rips.looms.trail where there were large pools of frozen water.  They started pawing at the ice with their hooves.  I broke the ice at various points so they could have a drink.  I had already broken the ice on the pools of water into the area where they were grazing, just off of the main path when I first arrived.

The ponies slowly made their way back to the gorse bushes at the north-east side of Brock's Hill by 16:15 where they continued to eat.  They were all happy and relaxed, even though it got chilly.  The graze on Tilly's head was looking a lot better today.  Hopefully her hair will grow back soon.  They were still all still grazing when I said goodbye about fifteen minutes later, just as it was beginning to get dark.

The ponies were all good today.
