Five ponies were found on the path near the gate to the Test Track section at 13:55 this afternoon. They were eating grass or picking gorse from the bushes in the warm sunshine. They were all happy and relaxed. The other three ponies were in the wooded area to the south, beside the racecourse fence line, where they were all enjoying lots of gorse and holly leaves.
By 14:30, seven of the ponies had come together and were happily grazing near the pond. The darker pony was still eating gorse down near the gate. The group of seven had reached the south side of Brock's Hill about fifteen minutes later, when the darker pony decided she should catch up. All eight ponies had a rest and stood in the sun for a short while. Tilly was happy to stand and receive an ear rub. They all then continued to graze along both sides of the path, all the way back to the south-west corner, where they started to eat more gorse. I said goodbye to them at 15:15.
The ponies were all good today.
