Emergency Procedure

If you need to report an emergency to us such as injured or escaped livestock or damaged infrastructure please follow this procedure:

  1. Call the office on 01256 381190.
  2. If no one answers, wait for the answering message which will detail the name and mobile number of the member of staff who is currently on call.
  3. Phone the on-call member of staff who will then respond accordingly.

NOTES:

  • Please do not phone a member of staff directly unless you know they are on-call.

  • If you are unsure if a particular situation qualifies as an emergency then please phone the on-call member of staff anyway so that they can make the decision on how to proceed.

  • Most importantly of all – please do not report injuries or sick animals via the blog alone – always call the emergency on-call contact.

    Thank you!

    Friday 1st November - All 6 seen

The ponies were grazing on the western slope of Brock's Hill at 14:00 this afternoon. The foal came wandering down first, eager for his usual neck rub, greeting me with affectionate cuddles, nuzzles and licks. He seems to be having a growth spurt, looking noticeably taller than over the weekend! The girls soon followed, each taking turns to say hello and enjoy some neck and back rubs. They were all looking gorgeous and were very friendly.

After a while, the ponies returned to grazing and moved into the pasture northwest of Brock's Hill near ///rivals.beaker.grew. They enjoyed the long grass and heather, but still came over regularly for more strokes. The little one especially enjoyed another long neck rub, followed by a back rub as he grazed. I did notice a chip in his rear left hoof, but it didn't seem to be causing any issues. The whole group were happy, relaxed and looking well.

By 15:05, the ponies reached the trees by the fire hydrant, where they stopped to drink from the pools of water. From there, they moved to the pasture near ///pigs.relief.nags where they happily grazed. Despite it being rather swampy in that area, they didn't mind getting their feet wet and muddy. They alternated between grazing, moving slowly southwest, and coming over for more strokes. It was lovely to spend some quiet time with them before I said my goodbyes around 16:15.

The ponies were all good today.
