Emergency Procedure

If you need to report an emergency to us such as injured or escaped livestock or damaged infrastructure please follow this procedure:

  1. Call the office on 01256 381190.
  2. If no one answers, wait for the answering message which will detail the name and mobile number of the member of staff who is currently on call.
  3. Phone the on-call member of staff who will then respond accordingly.

NOTES:

  • Please do not phone a member of staff directly unless you know they are on-call.

  • If you are unsure if a particular situation qualifies as an emergency then please phone the on-call member of staff anyway so that they can make the decision on how to proceed.

  • Most importantly of all – please do not report injuries or sick animals via the blog alone – always call the emergency on-call contact.

    Thank you!

The ponies were resting by the path alongside the Tweseldown Racecourse at 10:50 this morning. Pandora and the foal were lying down, but quickly got up when they spotted me. They were all very friendly, approaching one by one to say hello and enjoying plenty of strokes and rubs. All six looked happy, relaxed, and in excellent condition. The foal was especially affectionate today, rarely leaving my side and thoroughly enjoying endless neck, ear, and back rubs. He rewarded me with lovely cuddles, nuzzles, and licks.

I met Nicky at the site, and she applied antibiotic ointment to the bay coloured pony's right eye, which was slightly sticky again this morning. It's likely she caught her eye on a stray bit of gorse, but the treatment should help clear things up.

While Nicky and I chatted, the foal enjoyed being made a fuss of, and the other ponies relaxed close by. We said our goodbyes around noon.

The ponies were all good today.
