Emergency Procedure

If you need to report an emergency to us such as injured or escaped livestock or damaged infrastructure please follow this procedure:

  1. Call the office on 01256 381190.
  2. If no one answers, wait for the answering message which will detail the name and mobile number of the member of staff who is currently on call.
  3. Phone the on-call member of staff who will then respond accordingly.

NOTES:

  • Please do not phone a member of staff directly unless you know they are on-call.

  • If you are unsure if a particular situation qualifies as an emergency then please phone the on-call member of staff anyway so that they can make the decision on how to proceed.

  • Most importantly of all – please do not report injuries or sick animals via the blog alone – always call the emergency on-call contact.

    Thank you!

    Friday 8th November - All 6 seen

The ponies were gathered in the southwest corner at 15:30 this afternoon. The foal came straight over to greet me, offering affectionate cuddles and nuzzles. He thoroughly enjoyed a long neck rub. One by one, the girls followed, each happily receiving plenty of strokes. The ponies were all very relaxed and looking well. After a while, they wandered off to continue grazing.

Tilly ventured the furthest, happily munching on gorse blanketted by lots of bracken. She soon stopped to enjoy a long neck and ear rub. Once we were done, I returned to Poppy, Megan and the foal, who were slowly grazing towards the main path. The little one spotted me approaching and eagerly came over for more strokes. He was exceptionally friendly, giving me lots of head rubs as I petted him. Even as darkness fell, he encouraged me to continue with gentle nickers and nuzzles. Thankfully, his eye looked perfectly fine today.

By 16:50, with night fully set in, I made my rounds to say goodbye to each of the ponies.

The ponies were all good today.
