    Wednesday 30th July - all 3 seen

3 ponies grazing near to the test track gate today. All looking well, though flies are a pest for them. Fence scratches down the side of the larger mare are visible but don’t look to have been an issue for her

Tuesday 29th July - Staff Check

A busy site today with military activity and quite a few dog walkers

Walked everywhere the ponies weren't before finding them..! But that gave me the opportunity to do a bit of litter picking on my travels. No photos because my hands were full of old sandwich packets.

They're all looking very well and were grazing contentedly.

Tuesday 29th July - All three seen

Found the ponies easily at 1030 today just east of Brock's Hill between the track and the racecourse.  They  all appeared well and in good condition, and were contentedly grazing or browsing.  The large pony's scratches looked okay, appearing as a series of fine raised marks low on her left side.  They are just visible in this photo if you zoom in.

    Monday 28th July - All 3 seen

At 19.20 this evening, the ponies were grazing near ///intervene.mouths.fists, in the northeast section of the site. They were happily browsing on long grass and leaves from the trees. One by one, they came over to say hello and enjoyed plenty of strokes and rubs. Although the sun was beginning to set behind the tall trees, there were still quite a few flies around. The ponies were content to stand close for head and neck rubs, which helped keep the flies at bay.

After our initial greetings, they returned to grazing in the thicket, but soon came back over for longer neck and back rubs. They quickly relaxed, lowering their heads and resting a hind leg. After a while, Pandora moved into some nearby bushes to rest and escape the flies. She was happy for me to join her and thoroughly enjoyed a long neck rub, offering gentle nuzzles in return.

The scratches on the larger pony’s left side looked less raised today and appeared to be healing well. She showed no signs of discomfort and was happy for me to rub over the area.

By around 20:00, as the temperature dropped and the flies lessened, the ponies began grazing southwest toward the central cluster of trees in the more open area. They continued to wander over for more back and shoulder rubs as they ate. I said my goodbyes at 20:20, leaving them peacefully grazing.

I hope you're feeling better soon, Carolyn.

The ponies were all good today.

Mon 28 July, apologies not able to look today as unwell

    Sunday 27th July - All 3 seen

At 15:20 this afternoon, the ponies were happily grazing in the pasture just off the main path near ///edits.unusable.flag. One by one, they came over to say hello and enjoy some stokes and rubs. I noticed that the larger pony had a few light scratches along her left side. The skin wasn’t broken, and she showed no signs of discomfort—she was happy for me to check the area. It looked like she may have brushed against a branch while grazing or had been trying to scratch an itch. It would be good to keep an eye on her, just in case.

After our initial greetings, the ponies returned to grazing but took turns coming back over to spend time with me. They all enjoyed long neck, shoulder, and back rubs, and responded with affectionate cuddles, nuzzles, and licks. They were an absolute joy to spend time with, and there was always at least one by my side enjoying the attention.

By 16:25, the sun had made a welcome appearance, while the ponies continued grazing on the fresh grass. They still returned regularly for more strokes and to have the flies brushed from their faces.

I said my goodbyes at 16:45, leaving them peacefully grazing beside the main path.

The ponies were all good today.

    Friday 25th July - All 3 seen

At 18:10 this evening, the ponies were grazing contentedly in the pasture northwest of Brock's Hill, near ///quitter.power.golf. They were enjoying the fresh grass growing among the bracken in the warm sunshine. All three were very affectionate, coming over one by one to enjoy long neck, shoulder, and back rubs, offering gentle cuddles and nuzzles in return. When not being fussed over, they continued grazing, with the bracken helping to keep the flies off their faces. All three ponies looked happy, relaxed, and in excellent condition.

By 18:55, they had wandered out to the area by the main path, just along from the main entrance, where they alternated between grazing and returning for more strokes and rubs. They especially enjoyed having the sides of their necks scratched—stretching out their necks or resting their heads on my shoulder to make sure I reached all their itchy spots. As the sun began to set and the temperature dropped, the ponies appeared more comfortable and the flies gradually disappeared.

They spent some time grazing near the corral, occasionally nibbling on gorse, before moving southeast into the centre of the pasture by 19:30. After one final round of strokes, I said my goodbyes and left them peacefully grazing.

The ponies were all good today.

Despite a humid 55 minute walk around the site from 1015 all I got was a close encounter with a roe deer, no ponies.

    Monday, 21 July 2025

3.30pm, Mon 21 July, all 3 found today (yay) looking good, towards the test track gate on the right

All were eating the grass/foliage and seemed spirited, two were kicking their back legs and jumping around but then settled to eat.  I watched them for awhile and they seemed good

    Sunday 20th July - All 3 seen

Shortly before 15:30 this afternoon, the ponies were resting at the base of the eastern slope of Brock's Hill. As I approached, they spotted me and, with a chorus of soft nickers, made their way up the hill to greet me. All three were very friendly, taking turns to say hello and enjoy strokes and rubs. They looked gorgeous in the afternoon sunshine.

After plenty of neck and back rubs, the ponies began grazing on the hillside. Pandora, however, soon returned for more attention. She was especially affectionate today, content to stand close and be fussed over. She thoroughly enjoyed long neck and shoulder rubs, rewarding me with cuddles, nuzzles, and licks. After about fifteen minutes, she wandered down to join the others who were grazing peacefully in the warm sunshine—but not for long. She soon came back for another back rub, then had a playful roll in the sand. She rolled over at least six times, even pausing to lie still midway through, clearly enjoying herself. Afterwards, she lay there a little longer before jumping up and heading off to graze, looking very pleased with herself.

The other ponies also took breaks from grazing to come over and spend time with me near the track. They enjoyed more strokes and rubs, especially along the sides of their necks, shoulders, and backs, and responded with the sweetest nuzzles and cuddles. The girls were an absolute joy to spend time with this afternoon and were incredibly friendly throughout.

By around 16:50, they began moving into the pasture to the east to graze on the long grass. Along the way, they stopped for a refreshing drink from a deep puddle—thanks to this weekend’s rain, it’s great they now have a bit of extra water. After one final round of strokes, I said my goodbyes at 17:00, leaving them all content and happily grazing.

The ponies were all good today.

    Friday 18th July - All 3 seen

At 18:40 this evening, the ponies appeared over the mound between the two pastures near ///marine.unfolds.helm, just as I had entered the area to begin searching the northeast part of the site. All three were very friendly, coming over one by one to say hello and enjoy plenty of strokes. They were happy, relaxed, and in good condition. As the temperature cooled, they moved into the pasture near ///sings.occur.loaf to graze, making the most of the lush long grass and heather. They returned frequently for more attention, especially enjoying long neck rubs and responding with the sweetest cuddles and nuzzles. They also welcomed back and shoulder rubs as they continued their grazing. By around 19:35, the girls wandered south through the thicket and onto the main path. After another round of strokes, they resumed grazing in the pasture beside the Test Track gate. They were relaxed and content, looking stunning in the soft evening light. I said my goodbyes at 20:15, leaving them peacefully grazing. The ponies were all good today.

    Thursday 17th July - All 3 seen

At 18:40 this evening, the ponies were peacefully grazing in the long grass near the woodland northeast of Brock's Hill, around ///move.gives.pedicure. They noticed me approaching and greeted me with soft nickers. All three were very friendly, taking turns to come over, say hello, and enjoy some strokes. They looked happy, relaxed, and in good condition.

After our initial greetings, the ponies alternated between grazing and returning for more attention. As they gradually moved south through the pasture, they enjoyed the abundant supply of long grass and heather. They took frequent breaks and came over to spend some time with me, thoroughly enjoying long neck, shoulder, and back rubs. They were all especially affectionate, offering nuzzles, cuddles, and the occasional lick.

The ponies particularly enjoyed grazing in some of the softer, more swampy areas as they made their way toward Brock’s Hill. At one point, Pandora lay down for a good roll in the soft ground.  Afterwards, she wandered over and thoroughly enjoyed having the sides of her neck stroked — fully relaxing, resting a hind leg, and nearly dozing off. After a good while, she rejoined the others to continue grazing.

By around 19:50, the ponies had almost reached the track along the eastern side of the hill, but then turned and began grazing eastward. After one final round of strokes and rubs, I said my goodbyes at 20:15, leaving them all peacefully grazing near ///dine.blink.fakes.

The ponies were all good today.
