At 15:20 this afternoon, the ponies were happily grazing in the pasture just off the main path near ///edits.unusable.flag. One by one, they came over to say hello and enjoy some stokes and rubs. I noticed that the larger pony had a few light scratches along her left side. The skin wasn’t broken, and she showed no signs of discomfort—she was happy for me to check the area. It looked like she may have brushed against a branch while grazing or had been trying to scratch an itch. It would be good to keep an eye on her, just in case.
After our initial greetings, the ponies returned to grazing but took turns coming back over to spend time with me. They all enjoyed long neck, shoulder, and back rubs, and responded with affectionate cuddles, nuzzles, and licks. They were an absolute joy to spend time with, and there was always at least one by my side enjoying the attention.
By 16:25, the sun had made a welcome appearance, while the ponies continued grazing on the fresh grass. They still returned regularly for more strokes and to have the flies brushed from their faces.
I said my goodbyes at 16:45, leaving them peacefully grazing beside the main path.
The ponies were all good today.
