Emergency Procedure

If you need to report an emergency to us such as injured or escaped livestock or damaged infrastructure please follow this procedure:

  1. Call the office on 01256 381190.
  2. If no one answers, wait for the answering message which will detail the name and mobile number of the member of staff who is currently on call.
  3. Phone the on-call member of staff who will then respond accordingly.

NOTES:

  • Please do not phone a member of staff directly unless you know they are on-call.

  • If you are unsure if a particular situation qualifies as an emergency then please phone the on-call member of staff anyway so that they can make the decision on how to proceed.

  • Most importantly of all – please do not report injuries or sick animals via the blog alone – always call the emergency on-call contact.

    Thank you!

    Sunday 4th January - All 8 seen

Shortly after 14:00 this afternoon, the ponies were gathered in the far southwest corner, either resting, eating holly, or foraging for acorns under the fallen leaves. They were all very friendly, taking turns to come over, say hello, and enjoy plenty of strokes and rubs.

After our greetings, the ponies drifted back to resting or grazing, though they never stayed away for long. They were wonderfully attentive, wandering over again and again for long neck, shoulder, and back rubs. I always had at least one by my side, happily soaking up the affection and offering gentle nuzzles and the sweetest cuddles in return. The girls relaxed completely—resting a hind leg, with a couple even closing their eyes. They also seemed to appreciate having loose gorse brushed from their backs and untangled from their manes and forelocks. All of them looked happy, relaxed, and in good condition.

Shortly after 16:15, the ponies moved into the open pasture to browse gorse, slowly working their way toward the main path. I said my goodbyes at 16:40, by which time it was fully dark and rather chilly. As I walked away, they continued down the path toward the racecourse.

The repair to the fence line at the cut‑through onto the racecourse was still solid today, looking exactly as we left it yesterday — which was great to see.

The ponies were all good today.
