Emergency Procedure

If you need to report an emergency to us such as injured or escaped livestock or damaged infrastructure please follow this procedure:

  1. Call the office on 01256 381190.
  2. If no one answers, wait for the answering message which will detail the name and mobile number of the member of staff who is currently on call.
  3. Phone the on-call member of staff who will then respond accordingly.

NOTES:

  • Please do not phone a member of staff directly unless you know they are on-call.

  • If you are unsure if a particular situation qualifies as an emergency then please phone the on-call member of staff anyway so that they can make the decision on how to proceed.

  • Most importantly of all – please do not report injuries or sick animals via the blog alone – always call the emergency on-call contact.

    Thank you!

    Saturday 1st February - All 7 seen

The ponies were grazing in the pasture near the Gelvert Stream at 13:15 this afternoon. As I approached, they wandered onto the main path to greet me, each offering gentle nuzzles and cuddles before enjoying plenty of strokes. The girls were all very friendly and in great spirits.

I made an extra visit to Longvalley to check on Tilly's eye and see if she needed some antibiotic ointment applied. Fortunately, her eye looked much better than yesterday. After sharing updated photos with the owner, we agreed that no treatment was needed for now. However, we should continue monitoring her over the coming days to ensure there are no further issues.

After our greetings, the ponies returned to grazing, but frequently came back over for more strokes and rubs. They were all happy, relaxed, and in excellent condition. I said my goodbyes at 14:15, leaving the ponies peacefully grazing.

The ponies were all good today.
