Emergency Procedure

If you need to report an emergency to us such as injured or escaped livestock or damaged infrastructure please follow this procedure:

  1. Call the office on 01256 381190.
  2. If no one answers, wait for the answering message which will detail the name and mobile number of the member of staff who is currently on call.
  3. Phone the on-call member of staff who will then respond accordingly.

NOTES:

  • Please do not phone a member of staff directly unless you know they are on-call.

  • If you are unsure if a particular situation qualifies as an emergency then please phone the on-call member of staff anyway so that they can make the decision on how to proceed.

  • Most importantly of all – please do not report injuries or sick animals via the blog alone – always call the emergency on-call contact.

    Thank you!

    Friday 14th March - All 7 seen

The ponies were gathered near ///beaks.hexes.ulterior in the swampy northeast corner just after 08:15 this morning. Most were happily grazing, while a few rested, especially when the sun peeked out from behind the clouds. They were all very friendly, coming over to greet me and enjoy plenty of strokes, rewarding me with cuddles and nuzzles. The ponies were quite wet, particularly their faces, most likely from their earlier grazing.

Tilly was especially affectionate today, standing under the trees for a long neck rub. She completely relaxed, leaning into the strokes, and at one point, she even rested her head on my shoulder for a while. She thanked me with the most gorgeous nuzzles.

By the time I said my goodbyes just after 09:40, the ponies were all relaxing in the sun, looking happy, relaxed, and in good health.

The bay pony’s legs had worsened since last weekend, particularly the rear right, where the hair loss now extends almost down to her hoof. There was also a small raw spot about halfway up that leg. The newer bay pony’s head looked much the same as on recent visits, but she appeared slightly balder in some areas, with some thinning on her face. I have shared additional photos with the owner so they can decide on the next steps.

The owner is also aware that the black mare’s hooves are getting long and plans to address them in the coming weeks.

The ponies were all good today.
