Emergency Procedure

If you need to report an emergency to us such as injured or escaped livestock or damaged infrastructure please follow this procedure:

  1. Call the office on 01256 381190.
  2. If no one answers, wait for the answering message which will detail the name and mobile number of the member of staff who is currently on call.
  3. Phone the on-call member of staff who will then respond accordingly.

NOTES:

  • Please do not phone a member of staff directly unless you know they are on-call.

  • If you are unsure if a particular situation qualifies as an emergency then please phone the on-call member of staff anyway so that they can make the decision on how to proceed.

  • Most importantly of all – please do not report injuries or sick animals via the blog alone – always call the emergency on-call contact.

    Thank you!

    Sunday 9th March - All 7 seen

The ponies kept well away from the event at Tweseldown, moving to the swampy northeast section of the site near ///tramps.dunk.prefix at 15:00 this afternoon. They grazed happily in the warm sunshine, with a slight breeze helping to keep most of the flies away. The girls were especially friendly, greeting me one by one and enjoying some strokes before rewarding me with gentle nuzzles and cuddles. Many took a break from grazing to enjoy long neck rubs before having their backs brushed.

Five ponies moved to the shade of the trees to the northwest, near ///imply.retrain.with at 15:30. After munching on holly, they foraged around the large pools of water, enjoying an assortment of vegetation. The girls continued seeking me out for strokes and rubs, saving me from wading through the more waterlogged areas. All five were happy, relaxed, and looking well.

Megan and Poppy stayed out in the open, grazing in the sunshine as they moved northeast at 16:00. After nibbling on shoots growing through the surface of a large pool of water, Poppy wandered over for some attention. She completely relaxed while enjoying a long neck and ear rub, rewarding me with gentle nuzzles. It was nice to spend some quiet time with her without any interruptions from the other ponies. I said goodbye to Megan and Poppy just after 16:30, leaving them grazing contentedly. Both were in good health.

There wasn't much change to the bald patch above the newer bay pony's eye today, but the good news is it's not getting any worse. Hopefully, her hair will start growing back soon. The other areas of hair loss weren't any worse either. I didn't see her scratch herself at any point today, which is a good sign. The original bay pony's legs looked less red today, suggesting improvement. She wasn't gnawing at them, which hopefully means the itchiness is subsiding.

The ponies were all good today.
