Emergency Procedure

If you need to report an emergency to us such as injured or escaped livestock or damaged infrastructure please follow this procedure:

  1. Call the office on 01256 381190.
  2. If no one answers, wait for the answering message which will detail the name and mobile number of the member of staff who is currently on call.
  3. Phone the on-call member of staff who will then respond accordingly.

NOTES:

  • Please do not phone a member of staff directly unless you know they are on-call.

  • If you are unsure if a particular situation qualifies as an emergency then please phone the on-call member of staff anyway so that they can make the decision on how to proceed.

  • Most importantly of all – please do not report injuries or sick animals via the blog alone – always call the emergency on-call contact.

    Thank you!

    Thursday 6th March - All 7 seen

The ponies were happily grazing near the Test Track gate just after 10:00 this morning. They seemed surprised to see me but welcomed me warmly, with several greeting me with soft nickers. They were all incredibly friendly, enjoying plenty of strokes while resting in the sunshine. Many enjoyed long neck and ear rubs, completely relaxing and even closing their eyes. All were happy, relaxed, and in good health.

Nicky arrived around 10:40, and after greeting the girls, we treated the two bay ponies. The bald patch above the newer bay pony's eye was already looking a bit better today, even before treatment. She seemed much more comfortable and wasn't itching like she had been on Sunday. The original bay pony's legs looked a bit worse than before, but she was well-behaved during treatment and quickly settled after enjoying a few treats.

After Nicky left around 11:45, the ponies alternated between grazing, basking in the warm sun, and coming over for more strokes and rubs. It was wonderful to spend extra time with them, and I was rewarded with plenty of cuddles and nuzzles as I moved around the group. Tilly especially enjoyed a long neck rub while standing beside the main path, bowing her head and closing her eyes as she rested a hind leg.

I said my goodbyes at 12:30, just as some ponies began moving into the shade under the trees by the racecourse.

The ponies were all good today.
