Emergency Procedure

If you need to report an emergency to us such as injured or escaped livestock or damaged infrastructure please follow this procedure:

  1. Call the office on 01256 381190.
  2. If no one answers, wait for the answering message which will detail the name and mobile number of the member of staff who is currently on call.
  3. Phone the on-call member of staff who will then respond accordingly.

NOTES:

  • Please do not phone a member of staff directly unless you know they are on-call.

  • If you are unsure if a particular situation qualifies as an emergency then please phone the on-call member of staff anyway so that they can make the decision on how to proceed.

  • Most importantly of all – please do not report injuries or sick animals via the blog alone – always call the emergency on-call contact.

    Thank you!

    Friday 19th December - All 8 seen

At 12:40 this afternoon, the ponies were grazing north of the main path near the stream, close to ///palaces.tonal.because. Poppy must have heard me approaching, as she emerged from a gap in the gorse bushes to greet me. She was very affectionate, enjoying a neck rub and offering gentle nuzzles in return. The others soon followed, emerging one by one from the thicket to say hello and enjoy plenty of strokes. The ground was very wet and muddy, with several ponies wading through deep pools of water to reach the path. All of the girls were happy, relaxed, and looking well.

After our initial greetings, the ponies moved to graze in the pasture south of the path, enjoying plenty of grass and gorse in the warm sunshine. They took turns coming over to spend time with me, soaking up long neck and shoulder rubs. Most still had matted coats from yesterday’s rain, but a few gentle back rubs soon smoothed them out. The girls relaxed completely, lowering their heads and resting a hind leg.

It was lovely to see that the two new arrivals have settled into the group so well.

I said my goodbyes shortly before 14:30, leaving them peacefully grazing and beginning to move along the eastern side of Brock’s Hill.

The ponies were all good today.
