Emergency Procedure

If you need to report an emergency to us such as injured or escaped livestock or damaged infrastructure please follow this procedure:

  1. Call the office on 01256 381190.
  2. If no one answers, wait for the answering message which will detail the name and mobile number of the member of staff who is currently on call.
  3. Phone the on-call member of staff who will then respond accordingly.

NOTES:

  • Please do not phone a member of staff directly unless you know they are on-call.

  • If you are unsure if a particular situation qualifies as an emergency then please phone the on-call member of staff anyway so that they can make the decision on how to proceed.

  • Most importantly of all – please do not report injuries or sick animals via the blog alone – always call the emergency on-call contact.

    Thank you!

    Friday 11th October - All 6 seen

The ponies were spread out grazing in the pasture near ///height.cave.belief at 16:40 this afternoon. They were all very friendly, each coming over to say hello and enjoy some strokes. The foal waited patiently, but soon came over for a long neck rub. He thoroughly enjoyed it, showing affection with head rubs and nuzzles. By the time we were done, the rest of the ponies had almost reached the path by Brock's Hill, still happily grazing. They were all relaxed, happy and looking well.

The ponies continued to graze, enjoying lots of grass, leaves, gorse and the occasional acorn found lying on the ground. They took regular breaks to come back over for more strokes, with several enjoying long neck and back rubs. Pandora was especially friendly, letting me scratch her neck for ages. She thoroughly enjoyed it, even nuzzling my shoulder in appreciation. The newcomer has also settled in nicely and was grazing peacefully alongside the others. It's wonderful how warmly she's been welcomed into the group.

Not to be outdone, the little one enjoyed even more neck and back rubs. He was especially pleased with an ear rub, moving his head around so I could get all his itchy spots. He was absolutely adorable this evening, just wanting to be stroked and showing his gratitude with cuddles and licks.

By 17:45, the ponies had grazed their way along the east side of Brock's Hill and reached the main path, continuing to graze on both sides. The little one came over for one last round of strokes before I said my goodbyes just after 18:00. It's hard to believe it's already getting dark at this time.

The ponies were all good today.
