Sunday 6th October - Pony Update - All 6 seen

I had the loveliest welcome this morning at 09:45 when Tilly met me just beyond the main entrance. She was very friendly, softly nickering as I approached, then offering some gentle head rubs before enjoying an ear rub. Shortly after, Pandora and the foal came around the corner to greet me. The little one was full of affection, happily receiving the first of many neck rubs while giving me plenty of cuddles and nuzzles. Megan and Poppy soon arrived, having come up the path from the side of the racecourse, to say hello. The ponies were all happy, relaxed and looking well.

The little one was especially friendly today and wanted nothing but strokes and attention. Even when his mum went to graze in the southwest corner with Poppy, he stayed with me, thoroughly enjoying more neck and back rubs. Just before 10:30, he went to nurse from his mum, allowing me to spend some time with Pandora and Tilly, who were resting near the path.

At around 10:40, Nicky arrived and, after saying hello to the ponies, introduced a new addition to the group. She is another familiar face returning to Long Valley. It was wonderful to see her again, particularly looking so well. After leaving the trailer, she went for a run with Tilly and Pandora to reacquaint herself with the site and her friends. By 11:00, all six ponies had gathered under the trees at the far southwest corner, where the newcomer met the foal, with Megan keeping a close watch. They soon moved to graze by the corral. There were a few squeals and some foot stamping as they got reacquainted, but overall, things remained calm.

When Nicky left around 11:40, the ponies ran off. I found them shortly after, grazing peacefully in the pasture by the test track. They were calm and had settled down nicely. Tilly enjoyed another ear rub, and the little one relaxed with gentle strokes along his neck. I said my goodbyes at 12:20. As I walked away, the ponies followed the track into the northeast section of the site.

The ponies were all good today.
