Emergency Procedure

If you need to report an emergency to us such as injured or escaped livestock or damaged infrastructure please follow this procedure:

  1. Call the office on 01256 381190.
  2. If no one answers, wait for the answering message which will detail the name and mobile number of the member of staff who is currently on call.
  3. Phone the on-call member of staff who will then respond accordingly.

NOTES:

  • Please do not phone a member of staff directly unless you know they are on-call.

  • If you are unsure if a particular situation qualifies as an emergency then please phone the on-call member of staff anyway so that they can make the decision on how to proceed.

  • Most importantly of all – please do not report injuries or sick animals via the blog alone – always call the emergency on-call contact.

    Thank you!

    Sunday 27th October - All 6 seen

Megan was happily grazing in the sunshine by the path near the Gelvert Stream at 14:15 this afternoon. After enjoying plenty of grass, she took a break to come over and say hello. The other ponies were grazing across the stream near the pond. They were all incredibly friendly, each coming over one by one for greetings and strokes. The foal waited patiently, then enjoyed a long neck and ear rub, giving back nuzzles and head rubs.

The ponies continued to graze as they gradually moved toward the area near the Test Track gate, frequently returning for more strokes. They weren't in any rush to get back to grazing, each enjoying long rubs to their necks, ears, and backs. Tilly totally relaxed during her neck rub, and at one point rested her head on my shoulder. Pandora also thoroughly enjoyed a long neck rub and allowed me to remove most of the burs from her forelock and the gorse from her mane.

By 15:20, they reached the path by the Test Track gate, where most continued munching on grass, while a few took a break to rest in the last of the afternoon sun. About fifteen minutes later, the girls began slipping into the thicket to enjoy some leaves and gorse. Megan and the little one stayed by the path, grazing together. After nursing, the little one came back over for more attention, enjoying another long neck rub. I said my goodbyes just after 16:00, with mum and foal wandering down to join the others.

The ponies were all good today.
