Steer 75 was resting and chewing his cud near ///amps.madder.amending at 17:45 this afternoon, in the pasture northeast of Brock's Hill. About 55 metres to the north, steer 257 was relaxing in the shade beneath a clump of trees. Although he was being pestered by a lot of flies, he seemed happy for me to sit beside him and help swish them away.
Steer 178 was grazing a little further east, enjoying plenty of long grass and leaves from the silver birch trees. He soon took a break and wandered over for a long neck and head rub, before returning to his grazing.
Around 18:15, the boys got up and began grazing. Steers 75 and 178 joined up and slowly made their way back towards Brock's Hill, while steer 257 wandered east into the swampy area to enjoy the long grass and leaves.
I left them at 18:45, with all three peacefully grazing. Steer 257 was slowly making his way back towards the others, who were still edging their way towards Brock’s Hill.
The cows were all good today.
