Emergency Procedure

If you need to report an emergency to us such as injured or escaped livestock or damaged infrastructure please follow this procedure:

  1. Call the office on 01256 381190.
  2. If no one answers, wait for the answering message which will detail the name and mobile number of the member of staff who is currently on call.
  3. Phone the on-call member of staff who will then respond accordingly.

NOTES:

  • Please do not phone a member of staff directly unless you know they are on-call.

  • If you are unsure if a particular situation qualifies as an emergency then please phone the on-call member of staff anyway so that they can make the decision on how to proceed.

  • Most importantly of all – please do not report injuries or sick animals via the blog alone – always call the emergency on-call contact.

    Thank you!

    Friday 23rd May - All 3 seen

Shortly before 17:30 this afternoon, steer 75 was happily munching on leaves from the bushes just off the main path near ///settle.salary.fools. After a quick hello, he followed me north, where we found steers 178 and 257 grazing near ///held.stub.prickly. The boys seemed to be enjoying the cooler weather, tucking into the long grass and leaves from the bushes. All three were happy, relaxed, and looking well.

Steer 178 was especially friendly, taking a break from grazing to come over for a long neck and back rub while resting and chewing his cud. After a while, the boys gradually drifted off in different directions. Steer 257 stayed close to where I’d first found him, continuing to graze on the fresh grass. Steer 75 wandered off to the northeast to browse the silver birch trees near ///views.voter.verb, while steer 178 made his way even further north to graze among the trees near ///zinc.doped.crypt.

I said my goodbyes at 18:30, leaving them all peacefully grazing.
