Emergency Procedure

If you need to report an emergency to us such as injured or escaped livestock or damaged infrastructure please follow this procedure:

  1. Call the office on 01256 381190.
  2. If no one answers, wait for the answering message which will detail the name and mobile number of the member of staff who is currently on call.
  3. Phone the on-call member of staff who will then respond accordingly.

NOTES:

  • Please do not phone a member of staff directly unless you know they are on-call.

  • If you are unsure if a particular situation qualifies as an emergency then please phone the on-call member of staff anyway so that they can make the decision on how to proceed.

  • Most importantly of all – please do not report injuries or sick animals via the blog alone – always call the emergency on-call contact.

    Thank you!

    Sunday 18th May - All 3 seen

Steer 257 was happily browsing on leaves from the bushes just off the main path near the Test Track gate at 14:20 this afternoon. A short while later, steer 178 was found lying down and relaxing in the shade near ///commit.surging.remembers, south of the pond. He was happy to be approached and enjoyed some long head and neck rubs. Just after 14:30, he got up and wandered over to the path before disappearing into the bushes to graze.

At 14:40, steer 75 was grazing in the thicket north of the Test Track gate, but soon emerged into the pasture near ///jots.apart.business. He was loving the long, lush grass in the warm sunshine.

By 15:00, steers 178 and 257 had met up and were happily munching on leaves from the bushes near ///travel.ranges.salary, a good distance northwest of steer 75. Steer 178 took a break to come over for more strokes. I noticed a few ticks around his front “armpits” had burst, leaving minor traces of blood, but he was otherwise fine.

I said my goodbyes at 15:15, leaving them all peacefully grazing. The boys were happy, relaxed, and looking well.

The cows were all good today.
