Emergency Procedure

If you need to report an emergency to us such as injured or escaped livestock or damaged infrastructure please follow this procedure:

  1. Call the office on 01256 381190.
  2. If no one answers, wait for the answering message which will detail the name and mobile number of the member of staff who is currently on call.
  3. Phone the on-call member of staff who will then respond accordingly.

NOTES:

  • Please do not phone a member of staff directly unless you know they are on-call.

  • If you are unsure if a particular situation qualifies as an emergency then please phone the on-call member of staff anyway so that they can make the decision on how to proceed.

  • Most importantly of all – please do not report injuries or sick animals via the blog alone – always call the emergency on-call contact.

    Thank you!

    Monday 5th May - All 3 seen

The boys were gathered among the trees in the far northeast corner of the site, near ///cosmic.gender.debut, at 14:15 this afternoon. Steers 75 and 178 were lying down, relaxing and chewing their cud. Steer 257 looked as though he'd only recently got up, and after a brief graze on some leaves, he settled back down to rest. Steer 75 soon got up, stretched, had a good head scratch against a tree, and then enjoyed grazing on the fresh grass growing nearby.

Not long after I arrived, a heavy, persistent shower set in, and the trees provided them with some welcome shelter from the rain.

I did notice that steer 178 had some dry, white mucus around his nostrils, though he otherwise appeared fine and comfortable.

I said my goodbyes at 14:45 when the rain began to ease. The boys were all happy, relaxed, and looking well.

The cows were all good today.
