Emergency Procedure

If you need to report an emergency to us such as injured or escaped livestock or damaged infrastructure please follow this procedure:

  1. Call the office on 01256 381190.
  2. If no one answers, wait for the answering message which will detail the name and mobile number of the member of staff who is currently on call.
  3. Phone the on-call member of staff who will then respond accordingly.

NOTES:

  • Please do not phone a member of staff directly unless you know they are on-call.

  • If you are unsure if a particular situation qualifies as an emergency then please phone the on-call member of staff anyway so that they can make the decision on how to proceed.

  • Most importantly of all – please do not report injuries or sick animals via the blog alone – always call the emergency on-call contact.

    Thank you!

    Friday 19th July - All 8 seen

The ponies were all grazing in the pasture at the side of the Test Track gate at 18:30 this evening.  They were all happy, relaxed and looking well.  They were all coping with the warm conditions, despite many flies.   Sadly, it appears the patches on the darker ponies face have got worse in the last couple of days.  Some new photos have been shared with the owner.

The not-so-little one was very friendly today.  He is really starting to fill out now and most of his hair has grown back.  He came wandering over to say hello as soon as he saw me and greeted me with some soft nickers.  The little one then enjoyed the first of many neck, head and back rubs.  He was giving me lovely head rubs while being stroked.  The foal was super happy and relaxed and didn't leave my side for the next thirty minutes.

The ponies slowly moved west and spent a good amount of time grazing in the area around the pond.  They were all enjoying lots of fresh grass.  The girls were all friendly and came and said hello at various points.  Several enjoyed ear and back rubs.  After a while, they jumped the Gelvert stream, with most stopping to have  a drink first.

I said my goodbyes at 19:45 with them all still happily grazing in the warm evening sunshine.

For info, I did check the ponies on Wednesday evening (17th July), but never got around to blogging.  They were all good and were grazing in a similar location as today.

The ponies were all good today.
