Emergency Procedure

If you need to report an emergency to us such as injured or escaped livestock or damaged infrastructure please follow this procedure:

  1. Call the office on 01256 381190.
  2. If no one answers, wait for the answering message which will detail the name and mobile number of the member of staff who is currently on call.
  3. Phone the on-call member of staff who will then respond accordingly.

NOTES:

  • Please do not phone a member of staff directly unless you know they are on-call.

  • If you are unsure if a particular situation qualifies as an emergency then please phone the on-call member of staff anyway so that they can make the decision on how to proceed.

  • Most importantly of all – please do not report injuries or sick animals via the blog alone – always call the emergency on-call contact.

    Thank you!

    Friday 7th June - All 4 seen

The ponies were all found in the pasture to the side of the Test Track gate at 16:25 this afternoon.  The girls were happily grazing, enjoying lots of long grass.  The foal was initially lying down, but quickly got up and came bounding over to say hello and receive the first of many neck rubs.

The ponies were all happy, relaxed and looking well.  They continued to graze for the next hour or so, spending lots of the time grazing near the pond.  They were all friendly, and came and said hello.  The little one was eating a lot more grass today, but was still nursing frequently from his mum.  He was very playful, but was really well-behaved.  There was the occasional bite of my boots, but nothing more than that.  He enjoyed lots of ear, neck, shoulder and back rubs throughout my visit.

By 17:40 the ponies had wandered back to the area around the main path.  The palomino pony came to say hello again and received a long neck and ear rub while standing resting.  She was happy and very relaxed.  The other two girls continued to eat fresh grass from both sides of the path.  The foal wanted more rubs before I said goodbye just after 18:00.

It appears that the little one is continuing to rub his head and neck on something that is irritating his skin.  He had a number of additional scrapes today.  He had new bald patches on the left side of his face, a couple of thin patches on his neck and some bald patches on both ears.  There wasn't any real change to the original patches.  I've shared some close up photos with Nicky.  Other than that, he was absolutely fine and was very friendly, as usual.  He's continuing to grow and build up his strength.

The ponies were all good today.
