Emergency Procedure

If you need to report an emergency to us such as injured or escaped livestock or damaged infrastructure please follow this procedure:

  1. Call the office on 01256 381190.
  2. If no one answers, wait for the answering message which will detail the name and mobile number of the member of staff who is currently on call.
  3. Phone the on-call member of staff who will then respond accordingly.

NOTES:

  • Please do not phone a member of staff directly unless you know they are on-call.

  • If you are unsure if a particular situation qualifies as an emergency then please phone the on-call member of staff anyway so that they can make the decision on how to proceed.

  • Most importantly of all – please do not report injuries or sick animals via the blog alone – always call the emergency on-call contact.

    Thank you!

    Sunday 9th June - All 4 seen

The ponies were found relaxing in the sunshine around ///disbelief.ramble.ghosts on the north side of Brock's Hill at 12:05 this afternoon.  Although it was lovely and warm, there was a gentle breeze blowing.  The foal was fast asleep, so I kept my distance.  It was nice to spend some quiet time with the girls and make sure they were okay.  Blondie was especially friendly and enjoyed long neck, ear and back rubs.  She was very relaxed, and ended up giving me gentle nuzzles and head rubs.  She was an absolute pleasure to spend time with today.

I was just about to say my goodbyes at 12:45, when a particularly loud plane took off, and woke the little one up.  He got up and went to nurse from his mum, and then came straight over to say hello.  I took over babysitting duties, allowing the girls to go and graze in the long grass.  The little one was very affectionate and gave lots of cuddles while being stroked.  He thoroughly enjoyed receiving numerous neck, ear, and back rubs today.

After a while, the girls crossed over the track and started munching on the grass growing among the swathes of bracken to the northwest.  The foal and I followed them, finding a nice open area to continue to play in.  He was back to biting the tongues of my boots today, but was otherwise well-behaved.  I said goodbye to the ponies at 13:30, with them heading into the trees and thicket around ///munch.casual.stall.

The ponies were all good today.
