Emergency Procedure

If you need to report an emergency to us such as injured or escaped livestock or damaged infrastructure please follow this procedure:

  1. Call the office on 01256 381190.
  2. If no one answers, wait for the answering message which will detail the name and mobile number of the member of staff who is currently on call.
  3. Phone the on-call member of staff who will then respond accordingly.

NOTES:

  • Please do not phone a member of staff directly unless you know they are on-call.

  • If you are unsure if a particular situation qualifies as an emergency then please phone the on-call member of staff anyway so that they can make the decision on how to proceed.

  • Most importantly of all – please do not report injuries or sick animals via the blog alone – always call the emergency on-call contact.

    Thank you!

    Monday 3rd June - All 4 seen

The ponies were all found in the pasture to the side of the Test Track gate at 17:10 this afternoon.  They were all grazing and enjoying lots of grass.  The foal came running over to say hello  when he saw me coming.  He was very well-behaved today, and enjoyed being stroked and receiving lots of attention.  He thoroughly enjoyed long neck and backs rubs and was very generous with his cuddles.

The girls were all friendly as well, and took a break from eating to come over to say hello.  However, the little one wanted all the attention and would gently whinny if I got distracted.  The ponies all slowly moved west, spending a fair bit of time grazing in the area around the pond.  By 18:05 two of the ponies had jumped over the stream and continued to munch on the fresh grass.  The palomino pony took the opportunity to come and say hello again, and this time enjoyed an ear rub.

There was very little change in the foals bald patches today.  I did make another attempt at applying his treatments, but he soon got fed up and ran back to his mum to nurse.  I managed to get some of the treatment on all three areas, with a good covering on the patch on the side of his face.

The ponies were all still grazing when I said goodbye shortly before 18:15.  They were all happy, relaxed and looking well.

The ponies were all good today.
