Emergency Procedure

If you need to report an emergency to us such as injured or escaped livestock or damaged infrastructure please follow this procedure:

  1. Call the office on 01256 381190.
  2. If no one answers, wait for the answering message which will detail the name and mobile number of the member of staff who is currently on call.
  3. Phone the on-call member of staff who will then respond accordingly.

NOTES:

  • Please do not phone a member of staff directly unless you know they are on-call.

  • If you are unsure if a particular situation qualifies as an emergency then please phone the on-call member of staff anyway so that they can make the decision on how to proceed.

  • Most importantly of all – please do not report injuries or sick animals via the blog alone – always call the emergency on-call contact.

    Thank you!

    Wednesday 12th June - All 4 seen

The ponies were all grazing on the north side of Brock's Hill at 12:35 this afternoon.  They were all happy, relaxed and looking well.  They were enjoying the warm sunshine.  I was joined by Nicky on my visit today, who had come up to check on the ponies.  Nicky was happy with the ponies' condition and thought they were all looking good.  The foal is continuing to make good progress. After checking out his bald patches, Nicky was able to apply a little more of the treatment.  We're not sure that it's the same fungal infection as the other ponies suffered from, but we need to keep an eye on him.

Unfortunately, I didn't get the chance to spend much time with the foal today, so I paid the ponies another visit this evening.  They had just emerged from the thicket and wandered into the trees at the side of the racecourse around ///ivory.earl.funded just after 18:30.  They were all very friendly and one by one came to say hello.  The little one came straight over and had his usual neck and ear rub, while the girls munched on fresh grass beside the path.  He was very friendly and was giving head rubs while being stroked.

The ponies slowly followed the path east, stopping at various points to eat. At one point, the little one picked up a bunch of leaves lying on the ground and gave them a good munch. He couldn't pull them off the branch, but that didn't stop him giving them a good chew.  Soon afterwards, Blondie wandered into an area just off the main path, where she enjoyed a long head rub.  The ponies continued to graze, making it to the area around ///lies.exits.clinic by 19:00. The foal was happy to be made a fuss of, enjoying a back and shoulder rub.

Not long after, the girls started to graze in the pasture opposite, where they enjoyed lots of long grass.  The foal went for a run around, before nursing from his mum.  He came running back after he was done for some final rubs.  I said goodbye to them just before 19:30.

The ponies were all good today.
