Emergency Procedure

If you need to report an emergency to us such as injured or escaped livestock or damaged infrastructure please follow this procedure:

  1. Call the office on 01256 381190.
  2. If no one answers, wait for the answering message which will detail the name and mobile number of the member of staff who is currently on call.
  3. Phone the on-call member of staff who will then respond accordingly.

NOTES:

  • Please do not phone a member of staff directly unless you know they are on-call.

  • If you are unsure if a particular situation qualifies as an emergency then please phone the on-call member of staff anyway so that they can make the decision on how to proceed.

  • Most importantly of all – please do not report injuries or sick animals via the blog alone – always call the emergency on-call contact.

    Thank you!

    Sunday 16th June - All 4 seen

The girls were found grazing in the sunshine around ///stung.marked.times at 13:30 this afternoon.  They were all friendly and came and said hello.  The foal must have heard me talking to Blondie and came running around the corner to say hello.  He received the first of many neck rubs and was very friendly, giving me lovely head rubs and nuzzles as he was stroked.  He had a couple of patches of wet mud on his right side, which I quickly got rid of.  The ponies were all happy, relaxed and looking well.

By 13:50, the ponies had wandered south, crossed over the path, and were grazing in the pasture to the side of the Test Track gate.  They were enjoying an assortment of grasses.  Other than when he went to nurse from his mum, the little one never left my side today.  He was thoroughly enjoying the attention and received many ear, neck, head, and back rubs.  He was enjoying biting and chewing on the longer grass today.

The girls continued to graze and spent a lot of time in the pasture by the pond.  They took a drink from the stream before jumping over into the neighbouring pasture at 14:30, where they continued to eat.  After about ten minutes, Pandora went for a big roll around.  She got up, stood for a minute, and then decided to roll some more.  She looked to be enjoying herself.  Soon after, the little one lay down at my feet and rested his eyes while being stroked in the warm sun.

By 15:05, Blondie and Pandora had started to rest, standing at the side of the main path.  Blondie was pleased to receive a nice head rub.  After a while, the foal came over again and wanted some more attention, which I gladly provided.  I said my goodbyes to the ponies at 15:30.  They then followed me all the way to the southwest corner as I left.

The ponies were all good today.  I got a bit carried away with the photos 😃.
