Emergency Procedure

If you need to report an emergency to us such as injured or escaped livestock or damaged infrastructure please follow this procedure:

  1. Call the office on 01256 381190.
  2. If no one answers, wait for the answering message which will detail the name and mobile number of the member of staff who is currently on call.
  3. Phone the on-call member of staff who will then respond accordingly.

NOTES:

  • Please do not phone a member of staff directly unless you know they are on-call.

  • If you are unsure if a particular situation qualifies as an emergency then please phone the on-call member of staff anyway so that they can make the decision on how to proceed.

  • Most importantly of all – please do not report injuries or sick animals via the blog alone – always call the emergency on-call contact.

    Thank you!

    Friday 16th August - All 3 seen

The ponies were standing in the shade under the trees in the far southwest corner of the site at 14:20 this afternoon. They were all very friendly and came and said hello. They were all nice and relaxed despite the large number of flies. The foal came over straight away and enjoyed a long neck rub. The flies mostly left him alone when he was standing close to me. Megan and Pandora stood nose to tail trying to keep the flies off each other's faces, without much success.
The little one was super friendly today and spent the next thirty minutes or so standing being stroked. He thoroughly enjoyed getting the sides of his neck stroked again today. He was giving me lovely head rubs and arm licks as a thank-you. The little one was very relaxed and was looking great today. At 14:55, the ponies ventured out into the neighbouring pasture, where they started to graze. They enjoyed lots of fresh grass. The foal stayed close to me and would often stop eating to receive more strokes. The ponies slowly wandered out towards the area around the main path, where they continued to eat. Sadly, the flies continued to bother them as they grazed. Pandora would regularly come over and stand with me, allowing me to stroke her neck. She allowed me to remove a couple of bracken leaves that were sticking to her mane.
After a while, the ponies wandered back in and continued to eat around the corral. They were all happy, relaxed and looking well. I said my goodbyes around 16:00.

The ponies were all good today.
