Emergency Procedure

If you need to report an emergency to us such as injured or escaped livestock or damaged infrastructure please follow this procedure:

  1. Call the office on 01256 381190.
  2. If no one answers, wait for the answering message which will detail the name and mobile number of the member of staff who is currently on call.
  3. Phone the on-call member of staff who will then respond accordingly.

NOTES:

  • Please do not phone a member of staff directly unless you know they are on-call.

  • If you are unsure if a particular situation qualifies as an emergency then please phone the on-call member of staff anyway so that they can make the decision on how to proceed.

  • Most importantly of all – please do not report injuries or sick animals via the blog alone – always call the emergency on-call contact.

    Thank you!

    Friday 30th August - All 3 seen

The ponies were happily grazing in the sunshine near ///model.thumb.lure at 17:10 this afternoon. Pandora was first to trot over to say hello, making soft nickering sounds as she approached. She was very friendly and allowed me to stroke her neck. The foal, who had been waiting patiently, soon came over to greet me and receive a long neck rub. He was very affectionate, giving me head rubs and licks right away.  Megan was enjoying plenty of fresh grass. The ponies were all happy, relaxed and looking very well.

The little one stayed by my side for the next half hour, enjoying countless strokes and rubs. Meanwhile, the girls were busy grazing and had reached the east side of Brock's Hill by around 17:50. When we wandered over to join them, the foal nursed from his mum. Soon after, the fun began as the little one showed off his rolling skills in the sand at the bottom of the path. He had a great time, rolling over on his back five or six times. When he was done, he came straight over for more strokes.  He was an absolute joy to spend time with today.

Megan and Pandora started grazing on the eastern slope of the hill. About twenty minutes later, the foal joined them and started eating some grass and heather. He soon wandered back over to me and happily accepted a back rub while continuing to graze. I said my goodbyes to all three shortly after 18:40.

The ponies were all good today.
