Emergency Procedure

If you need to report an emergency to us such as injured or escaped livestock or damaged infrastructure please follow this procedure:

  1. Call the office on 01256 381190.
  2. If no one answers, wait for the answering message which will detail the name and mobile number of the member of staff who is currently on call.
  3. Phone the on-call member of staff who will then respond accordingly.

NOTES:

  • Please do not phone a member of staff directly unless you know they are on-call.

  • If you are unsure if a particular situation qualifies as an emergency then please phone the on-call member of staff anyway so that they can make the decision on how to proceed.

  • Most importantly of all – please do not report injuries or sick animals via the blog alone – always call the emergency on-call contact.

    Thank you!

    Sunday 25th August - All 3 seen

The ponies were found in the trees near ///linguists.guarding.rise, in the northeast corner of the site, at 17:00 this afternoon. Pandora and the foal were resting, but both came straight over to say hello. Megan was munching on long grass around the neighbouring trees. The foal enjoyed a long neck rub, and was giving me the most lovely head rubs and licks as a thank-you. He was very relaxed and was looking gorgeous as always. Pandora was also very friendly this afternoon, and was happy to have her neck gently stroked while she was relaxing. Even though the ponies were in the trees, there were still plenty of flies around.
After about fifteen minutes, Megan came and joined the other two, and began to rest. The little one took the opportunity to nurse. He then came over and lay down next to me, wanting lots more strokes. The little one thoroughly enjoyed having his neck and back stroked. He was really struggling to keep his eyes open and by 17:30, he was fast asleep. I sat with him for a while longer, then got up carefully to avoid waking him. The girls were still relaxing alongside, with their heads bowed and resting a rear leg. Not wanting to disturb them any more, I said my goodbyes at 17:40. The ponies were all good today.
