Emergency Procedure

If you need to report an emergency to us such as injured or escaped livestock or damaged infrastructure please follow this procedure:

  1. Call the office on 01256 381190.
  2. If no one answers, wait for the answering message which will detail the name and mobile number of the member of staff who is currently on call.
  3. Phone the on-call member of staff who will then respond accordingly.

NOTES:

  • Please do not phone a member of staff directly unless you know they are on-call.

  • If you are unsure if a particular situation qualifies as an emergency then please phone the on-call member of staff anyway so that they can make the decision on how to proceed.

  • Most importantly of all – please do not report injuries or sick animals via the blog alone – always call the emergency on-call contact.

    Thank you!

    Friday 2nd August - All 3 seen

The ponies were happily grazing on the northern slope of Brock's Hill, just around the corner from the main entrance, at 17:15 this afternoon. The foal came running down to meet me when he saw me coming and enjoyed the first of many neck rubs. Pandora followed him down and came and said hello. She came and stood right beside me, and was happy for me to stroke her, even licking my arm a few times. The little one wanted more attention and was giving me lots of head rubs as encouragement to stroke him. Pandora went back to grazing on the slope, while the foal enjoyed lots of ear, shoulder and back rubs. By 17:45, all three ponies had made it to the top of Brock's Hill and had started to munch on lots of grass. Megan came over to say hello. She was happy, relaxed and looking well. The little one alternated between eating and being stroked. He was super friendly today and was very well-behaved. Pandora was also very friendly and would frequently come over to see me. She enjoyed having the sides of her neck stroked, and would rest her head on my arm. The ponies continued to graze happily in the sunshine, and by 18:30 they had descended the east slope of the hill. The little one nursed from his mum before I said my goodbyes soon after.

The ponies were all good today.
