Emergency Procedure

If you need to report an emergency to us such as injured or escaped livestock or damaged infrastructure please follow this procedure:

  1. Call the office on 01256 381190.
  2. If no one answers, wait for the answering message which will detail the name and mobile number of the member of staff who is currently on call.
  3. Phone the on-call member of staff who will then respond accordingly.

NOTES:

  • Please do not phone a member of staff directly unless you know they are on-call.

  • If you are unsure if a particular situation qualifies as an emergency then please phone the on-call member of staff anyway so that they can make the decision on how to proceed.

  • Most importantly of all – please do not report injuries or sick animals via the blog alone – always call the emergency on-call contact.

    Thank you!

    Sunday 4th August - All 3 seen

The ponies were all grazing in the area around ///grips.junior.touchy on the west side of the Gelvert stream at 16:00 this afternoon. They were all happy and relaxed and were enjoying the afternoon sunshine. Megan and Pandora both came and said hello and were looking well. However, today's visit was all about the foal. He immediately came over to say hello and enjoyed a long neck rub. He then barely left my side for the duration of my visit. The little one just wanted to be stroked and enjoyed lots of ear, head, neck and back rubs. He was an absolute joy today, giving me plenty of head rubs, gentle nuzzles and arm licks. After a while, the ponies jumped over the stream into the area by the pond. The girls continued to graze, enjoying lots of grass, while the little one stayed with me. He thoroughly enjoyed getting the sides of his neck stroked while standing in the sun. He was fully relaxed, resting a rear leg while bowing his head and shutting his eyes.

Just after 17:10, he went and nursed from his mum only to come straight back over. He immediately lay down at my feet, and was happy to continue to be stroked. He was soon fast asleep. The little one hasn't done this for a while, so it was a pleasant surprise. I said my goodbyes to the ponies at 17:30 with the foal still sleeping.

The ponies were all good today.
